Flip’s Manor
These are some exhibits yas mighta seen in Flip’s mansion depending on how far ya went with the tour:
Exhibits on all his sports stats.
Like rookie of the year and such, most of his more fantastic plays, both assists and break-a-ways in jazzball.
His more famous snow board jumps, and all his medals for skiing and snow boarding contests (you’d be surprised just how many of them he’s gotten)
His hockey stats and awards, figure skating awards, both paired and single, (which is funny, what he can barely do on the dance floor, he can do ‘fantastically well’ backwards and on ice) and speed skating stats and awards.
Scenic pictures of the Rockies and surrounding areas, many you might have seen before in whatever picture mags, and post cards that might be floating about rifts earth.
Along with a few writings from journals, quotes, and small works of poetry.
*note: If you’re were at these exhibits with Flip, he’d be proudly showing and describing how any were done and what was going through his mind at the time. He would be doing most of his talking about the pictures and the travels he went on and things he came across, or fell into on his picture trips. The journals, quotes, and poems he’d just kinda blush at, mostly their topics would focus and revolve around trust, teamwork, and hope.
One of the more memorable exhibits was inside a theatre room, with screens that covered all four walls. (if you’ve ever been to universal studios, it’s like one of those ride the movie rides.)
The seats are made on one giant machine that can tilt you up and down and to either side. The idea is to simulate the experiences of a couple of the jumps. To do this the temperature of the room and a wind generator in back are also adjusted to suit the screen. The screen takes you for a ride down a snow board jump a three different times, each time pulling different maneuvers Flip won at the competitions with, than the real trick, a trip through the Rockies on Flip’s Hover board at first it seems peaceful as he goes out of whitewall and it shows many of the beautiful surrounding areas, than suddenly it’s about dodging leatherwings (animalistic humanoid batlike creatures), mountain peaks, and narrow passages, then combine all of them with heavy winds and blizzard conditions. That trip was a real occurrence, as it was one of many picture trips flip went on. (he was trying to catch some high scenic pics of the mountains during an ice thaw)
There is a narrator that describes the maneuvers he's about to pull for the snowboard jumps, and then reamins quiet for the flight part of this exhibit, at the end of it he shows the trip flight and the stunts pulled from a third person view, answering any questions.
Then as a comical finale, it shows many many many home videos of the wipeouts Flip has had on the hover board, and the snow board, and hits he took in the Jazzball games, and all the ports he's learned. The most painful and comical one is shown at the end with him wearing tights as he's figure skating, and takes a corner with one leg going to far. He slips down doing the splits accidentally, making a horrid sounding squeak, before his eyes roll up into his head and he falls backwards, out like a light. (never any of the immediate results are shown, cause they would be unsuitable for children for many of the bloopers, just the spills and mabye the casts he'd end up in afterwards. As a side note: you'll notice when he was at the age 14 and on til sometime in the jazzball Flip actually had dark black hair compared to his light brown you know him with)
Exhibits on works of heroism, (all be it, that there isn’t quite so many as for the sports awards) This is the more grandiose exhibit of them all, it describes a few very tall tales of how he bravely helped out a few fishing villages, recording almost every detail of how it happened, and the main one on how he saved Whitewall when he was 14. It also has much room for expansion, and new exhibits, probably featuring many of our group’s names, are being built with every new story or knight we take down.
*note: Flip usually remains with a rather quiet frown at this exhibit, the only comments he’ll make if asked, is it’s all over exaggerated,
And the last on the list of exhibits is his history, and is located in what makes to be the basement of this manor. This would include small bits of info on his mother (nothing on his father) about how she would use herbs from the rain forest to heal many different diseases, some that couldn’t even be cured by the advanced technological hospital located there. She was considered completely selfless, and good natured by all the townsfolk, she was very well loved. (it also makes mention of the herbology labs area of study in the bio-dome named for her)
You’ll find her grave (well, really just the door to the Fraser family tomb, but she’s the only one in there) in one of the rooms on display, the only barrier between you and it, is that velvet rope. It’s decorated with almost a sacred church feeling, made of polished oak, and stone. You’ll also find the old shack he used to live in with his mother on display, the shack itself fits in easily to one of the medium sized rooms you, anyone 6 foot and over would have to hunch over to get inside. (flip mother was only about 5’1)
*note: Flip was probably in the washroom or getting a drink while you were at this exhibit. You’d have to tie him down before bringing him down here to get him to stay at all, and more than likely you still wouldn’t get a word out of him
*Keep in mind there is also a natural hot spring behind the manor used for bathing, an indoor heated pool (with slide), a full scale Gym, and more than a few recreation rooms. all of these rooms are for public use.
(Flip also has his own personal smaller versions of all these rooms, except for the pool)
