Okay, since the topic hasn't been addressed in game yet, and as of the posting of this topic, the group has four days to come up with some sort of a game plan. As I have already expressed to one of the players and the GM, I would REALLY like to not go into this thing half-cocked and with our thumbs up our arses.
In all honesty, from the information that Heather has provided about the encampment that our group is going to be tackling, we'll be in WAY over our heads if we don't have SOME sort of a game plan to get in and out of their in one piece. Remember the spell Transmute to Red Mist? Yeah. That sorta stuff....
Okay, so I started thinking upon it and here's what I came up with. The group will be broken into two different units, one unit that's primary goal is getting into the encampment in one piece and getting out with the slaves in much the same manner. This group will primarily be PC's and NPC's who focus more on close combat with either single or multiple opponents.
The second group will provide cover/support for the first group. This group will composed more of either those who are experienced in mid to long-range distance combat, those who can provide a distraction or cover for group one, or those who might not be the most adept at being "in the thick" of things as it were. Especially in regards to who we are dealing with.
I don't intend for this to cut away from ANY individual PC or NPC, we'll probably need everyone working well in this plan for it to go off well and with minimum casualties to OUR people. Remember, the goal isn't who can get beat up the worst or who can take the most hits... it's how smart can we work this situation to our advantage! Thus, I don't want anyone feeling that I'm cutting them outta the loop with this plan, I'm REALLY trying not to. I just think this will give us ALL the best chance for survival.
Okay! On to the actual groups. Group one will consist of Enriti, Chu'Si, Jeff, Anna, Aliza and Elexorien. Elexorien and Jeff are both cyber-knights whether retired or not is irrelevant, cyber-knights are good in close combat situations. Enriti is a gladiator slave and as such is probably more accustomed to fighting an opponent she can see face to face (It's more fun for the masses...). Chu'Si is a psi-stalker and a hunter. She will prefer the up close and personal combat and is really good at it. Plus the fact that her and Elex have very little long-range capabilities... beyond the bow and arrow. Aliza is a powerful mind melter in her own right and will provide an obvious psychic edge in combat. Anna has spell magic on her side and from what I can understand isn't half bad with a sword. Thus these have been picked out.
Group two will consist of Heather, Ringo, Tanja, Tori and Hector. I know Heather has a bit of a personal vendetta against the boys, but she is sort of becoming the heavy weapons expert in the group. We'll need her in a position to be able to take down either large groups at once or snipe away at smaller targets. Grenade launcher undercarriage on a laser rifle with a scope maybe...? Tanja will be able to keep her eyes on the encampment as a whole since everyone else will be... highly focused on other matters. Or at least should be. Tori and Yoshi, Tori is just a little girl in all fairness, even with her plushie protector by her side, the danger for her to be in group one is just TOO great. Not to mention the fact that she has her own unfortunate run ins with the boys as well. And I seriously DOUBT she will leave Heather's side in a combat environment. However, Yoshi's little pipe bomb trick could play an integral part in the groups escape. Spit out a few of those suckers and give'm a delay... well, you get the idea. Hector and Ringo will each be serving similar functions. Their purposes will go in tandem with Heather's. Shoot up the Boys from a distance, but also protecting group two. These two banditos will be able to fend off most if not all of the attacks that may end up being leveled at Group Two. Ringo also has psychic and spell magic capabilities that will probably come in very handy. I mean... he's stayed alive this long, hasn't he? Must be doing something right...
So! There's the game plan. Questions? Comments? Concerns?
