(12:54:18 AM) johnathan: On the trip back from the slavers meeting place, where once again they have failed to locate their elusive comrades, the group has decided to set up camp for the night. Elexorien, despite what would undoubtedly be multiple protests from the others, has once again offered to watch over the group while they sleep. Even should someone turn him down, he does not sleep well and is still up during the middle of the night, tending a fire amidst the desert cold. Though, if anyone were to catch him during this lonely hours, he does not move and the position he is sitting in does not look comfortable in the slightest, yet he remains there. His eyes closed.
(12:59:49 AM) 3508710: "Hi," comes a familiar voice, speaking softly in the quiet of the desert night.
(1:03:01 AM) johnathan: He remains motionless until she gets a bit closer before speaking, "The night is late, Tanja-san."
(1:04:41 AM) 3508710: "Yeah. I was kind of thinking about stuff and all. You look sort of like you were thinking about stuff too, except, um, stuff you didn't really want to be thinking about?"
(1:07:09 AM) johnathan: "I attempt to bring calm to my being, Tanja-san. Thus I meditate, except my meditations only bring me back to the same terrible conclusions." He finally turns his head and looks in Tanja's direction, as though he already knew where she was, "And you?"
(1:10:22 AM) 3508710: "Oh... well I was putting a report together. Except leaving out some bits. Like you know the naughty bits. And trying to figure out why we can't find the missing people. Except I didn't figure anything out yet. But if you keep getting to terrible conclusions I guess that's not very good for bringing calm to your being. What terrible conclusions?"
(1:14:22 AM) johnathan: *frowns* "I have lost My Lady. And I am having trouble accepting that. Her disappearence, along with Ringo-san, is concerning and has me troubled. I worry for their safety, as well as the well being of those that have become attached them, myself included."

(1:21:25 AM) johnathan: *nods slightly* "Yes. Though, I know now, I can not do it alone..." *shakes his head* "My sensei told me the life of a Cyber-Knight was a lonely one. Yet every single one of us chooses it. To make a difference in a world engulfed in darkness, to be a shining light for those that have lost hope..." *sighs* "And yet here I am... despairing."

(1:40:57 AM) johnathan: Elex actually gives an odd look, almost as though he does not understand the question, "Fun, Tanja-san? Fun, is a relative term I am afraid." *smiles* "My idea of fun is engaging someone in a good game of Go... Enjoying the subtleties of calligraphy... or..." Elexorien turns his eyes down and his cheeks flush, "Singing..."

(1:46:41 AM) johnathan: Elex frowns thoughtfully "I do not sing often, I have only ever sang for My Lady and Sensei. Go... is... an intellectual game. It is like... I believe people call it chess.
Except, it is absolutely nothing like how people have described it to me. Calligraphy... it is an art, of sorts. Except it is all done through words."
(1:48:47 AM) johnathan: "Here, Tanja-san, let me show you..." He then pulls out one of his knives and begins to draw in the sand. The character that takes shape looks like a piece of artwork.
(1:50:23 AM) 3508710: "Well you ought to sing more often, I mean if you can do something cool that people enjoy, you ought to let lots of people enjoy it. ... art all done through words? You mean like poetry?" Tanja leans forward and watches. "Oooh hey that's neat!"

'Serenity'."
(1:53:37 AM) 3508710: "Cool," Tanja grins cheerfully. "I always got annoyed in school when they made you do neat handwriting, I mean like normally you're going to be using a computer anyway so what difference does it make? I never realized people did that kind of thing for fun.

(1:59:42 AM) johnathan: Elex frowns slightly, "There are those of us who do not much care for technology. My Lady's people call people such as us 'Purists'. Those of us who do not much care for the trappings that come with technology." He looks down at the the character, "It is japanese, Tanja-san. The language of my sensei."
(2:02:05 AM) 3508710: "Aww, but technology is fun. Hey, doesn't the cyber bit in cyberknight mean technology? So is your sensei from this Japanese place? Is sensei a Japanese word too?"

In fact, most Cyber-Knights have a layer of strong metal grafted to their very skin. It has become something of a tactical advantage upon the battlefield. And many are not averse to wielding or carrying technological weapons and armors. However, it was not how I was raised, or trained. And Sensei does indeed originate from Japan, however, he has resided upon this continent for many years."
(2:08:23 AM) 3508710: Tanja smiles, pleased at the compliment. "Okay so you're a cyberknight without the cyber part... what do you use instead then?"

Though I am sure there are those who would wish to use my body in such a manner..." *shakes his head* "No. I have trained my body, over many years, to be at what many would consider to be a peak. My body is a weapon, as well as an armor. It came through many years of training."
(2:16:32 AM) 3508710: "Unarmed fighting?" Tanja grins. "I took some lessons in that too, back home, actually. But our teacher said, no matter how good you are, if the bad guy's got a weapon and all you've got is your fists, the best move is like running away really really fast."
(2:19:57 AM) johnathan: *shakes his head* "That is only partially the way I do it, Tanja-san. Yes, I am highly proficient in unarmed combat. Even unnarmed I could dispose of several armed individuals."

(2:26:46 AM) johnathan: Elex seems to ponder upon this for several moments, "Yes, I would be able to do that, Tanja-san. A demonstration? Or do you wish to learn?"
(2:27:41 AM) 3508710: "Well... demonstrate first and if it's that effective then I'd like to learn?" Tanja smiles cheerfully.
(2:29:25 AM) johnathan: Elex hrmms lightly for a few moments as he ponders how best to achieve the desired results of this example, before nodding, "Very well, Tanja-san. Though I am usually not one to give a demonstration. Your weapon, Tanja-san. Draw it."
(2:30:38 AM) 3508710: "Okay," Tanja glides to her feet and draws her laser pistol, aiming just to the side of Elex, though leaving the safety on.
(2:33:04 AM) johnathan: Elex stands up from his kneeling position, his stance seems relaxed and Elex appears completely at ease, stoic even. His concern, if any, is not visible at the slightest, "Now, I want you to attempt to shoot me."
(2:34:12 AM) 3508710: "Mmm-hmm," Tanja dials the weapon to minimum power, aims for the Center of mass and squeezes the trigger.
(2:35:27 AM) johnathan: (And chances are unless Tanja rolls a natural 20... He'll dodge it. His dodge bonus is.... +17)
(2:37:22 AM) johnathan: Elex deftly moves out of the way, almost like it was casual and he really wasn't trying to avoid the blast, "It is a lot harder for someone with a gun to hit me than they always seem to think..." He frowns in a thoughtful manner, "The only time I have ever been injured significantly by a technological device was by a man who dropped a grenade at his own feet, in order to try and stop me..."
(2:38:54 AM) 3508710: Tanja blinks as a small flash of light illuminates the desert sand behind where Elex was a moment ago. "Wow! Hmm..." she narrows her eyes in concentration. (trying telekinetic grab, Dodge work on that also?)
(2:40:33 AM) johnathan: (There is no possible dodge for a TK attack, unless it is an actual attack. But just grabbing someone via TK does not require a strike and can not be dodge. It was a great source of problems for one of my more colorful characters. However, unless Tanja plans on using Super TK, Elex would be able to overpower it)

(2:42:13 AM) 3508710: Tanja cheers up as Elex finds himself gently but firmly lifted a couple of feet into the air. "At least you didn't manage to dodge that," she smiles. ( super TK it is, but just
grabbing, not actual attacking)
(2:45:44 AM) johnathan: He blinks and looks at the ground, "I saw your aura shift, yet I was unfamiliar with what it was you were going to do, Tanja-san..." He opens his palm and a simple shaft of light bursts into existence within his grasp and it quickly takes the shape of a bo staff, "However, I am fairly certain you will still not be able to strike me."
(2:56:08 AM) 3508710: "Hmm," Tanja puts away her pistol and bends down to pick up a few pebbles, one of which she gently flicks at the suspended Elex.
(2:58:21 AM) johnathan: Elex actually looks at the pebble and it stops in mid-air, suspended before dropping to the ground, "Did you honestly suspect you were the only one familiar with telekinesis, Tanja-san." He shakes his head at this, "In either case, you may put me down now."
(2:59:19 AM) 3508710: "Ah," Tanja giggles, lowering Elex to the ground. "So you don't just depend on your body after all."
(3:00:49 AM) johnathan: He shakes his head at this, "Not entirely, though it is unusual that I am required to use them for anything. I rely on much of my psychic abilities for times when they are truly necessary."
(3:02:23 AM) 3508710: "Well sure, it's not like we get into fights all that often. But if you use them a little bit everyday anyway, it's good practice."
(3:03:48 AM) johnathan: He nods at this, "Yes, Tanja-san, that is true. Practice is the key to success. However, one can exercise their mind in other ways besides the show of power."
(3:06:45 AM) 3508710: "Well yeah. Like trying to perceive stuff is good exercise. And one of my teachers said writing stuff down is good mental exercise too and I guess maybe she was right. And, hey, did you say you know a good strategy game?"
(3:07:23 AM) johnathan: He nods at this, "The game is called Go. It takes minutes to learn... and a lifetime to master."

(3:08:33 AM) johnathan: Elex then does something, I am fairly certain Tanja has never seen. He smiles, "It would be a delight to find someone who I can play against. My Lady is unfortunately not patient enough for the game."

(3:27:50 AM) johnathan: He nods slightly and resumes his stoic appearance, "There are things I can teach you, and things that I will not teach you. I will not teach you how to kill. However, I will teach you how to defend yourself if you wish."
(3:31:08 AM) 3508710: "Thanks, I think I'm okay with the whole 'shoot the bad guy' kind of self defense idea, I bet nobody gets to be able to dodge laser beams without like years of practice anyway... but... I miss games... people mostly don't seem to play a lot of games around here... I'd like to learn to play Go."
