[23:50] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: we'll pick up where she asks him about wanting to read?
[23:51] Juli: sure
[23:51] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "I don't really the see point in reading though."
[23:52] Juli: "why not? Reading is a pretty handy skill to have. It can help you learn new skills, you can then write down things you want to remember for later on, all kinds of things"
[23:55] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *looks pensive, trying to think of an example.* "I haven't written a thing down...ever," he clears his throat. "I mean, you're reading a fiction book."
[23:57] Juli: "I read this for pleasure, and to pass the time. It's a nice story. But more, being able to read and write allows me to keep records of my life. I have journals that I keep that help me remember my former friends and enemies, and help me to get out of sticky situations or even avoid them"
[23:59] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "I can read in Spanish, but never thought to write anything down. I pass the time with video games, and..." he takes a drink from his flask. "You read your journals a lot after writing in them, then?"
[00:01] Juli: "it depends on what's going on and my mood I guess" *momentarily looks sad, but shakes it off pretty quickly*
[00:02] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "Did I do something wrong?" *he notices the sad look*
[00:03] Juli: *shakes her head* "no. My journals document some old friends, some who are no longer around. Sometimes I miss them, and I'll read them to help me remember all the good times we had. Normally though, I use them to help remember situations, what worked, what didn't, mistakes and what I could have done to not make them. "
[00:05] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "I understand, I think. I've never had any friends, really." *thinks for a moment* "I remember things too fine. Too many things, actually. I wish that I could forget them sometimes."
[00:07] Juli: *nods* "I've had some experiences like that, but I don't think we want to forget them. If you forget the bad things, how do you keep them from happening again. By remembering this stuff, we can remember the circumstances that led to them happening, and therefore avoid ever doing it again"
[00:08] Juli: "of course, the trick to that is to not dwell on them and let them haunt us. I have a hard time with that sometimes"
[00:09] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "these things won't happen again." *shifts his position a little* "A hard time with things such as?"
[00:10] Juli: "people I've had to kill. Friends who have died...or were lost other ways. People who have died due to my actions, even if I haven't actually killed them. Most were things I've had to do to survive, but that doesn't make it easier"
[00:11] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *blinks rapidly, failing to conceal the odd surprise about Anna killing people* "You have to write that down to remember it?"
[00:13] Juli: *shakes her head* "no, I remember those vividly. What I need to remember is what went on that leads up to those things so I can avoid doing them again. If you write a daily journal, then go back and read the days that lead up to a bad event, you can usually see what led you to that event"
[00:13] Juli: "you are surprised that I've had to kill?"
[00:14] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "oh, no, just kinda caught me off guard."
[00:14] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "the frankness of it."
[00:16] Juli: "when I left Jamaica, I did so as a pirate. I've done many things that I regret, but I'm not ashamed of who I am or what I was because I did what I had to in order to survive, just like everyone else"
[00:17] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *looks around the room* "I don't even know if I've ever killed anybody. I shot a few people but they were down the street or whatever, didn't see what happened to them." *puts his chin on his chest* "I guess I have no idea how it feels."
[00:20] Juli: "it sucks...even if the person you killed was going to kill you. Taking a human life should NEVER be easy. I pray for those whose life I've taken, but I try not to dwell too much on it. I know there is an afterlife, that helps a bit" *smiles sadly*
[00:20] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "pray?" *scoffs slightly*
[00:21] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "fuck 'em, they get what they deserve."
[00:24] Juli: *shakes her head* "yes, pray. The people I have killed all had families, children, lovers, friends. Just like I do. If they got what they deserve, then I also deserve to die. I am no better than anyone else. Those people are doing what they have to in order to make their way in this world, just like you and I do. So I pray in the hopes that whoever their gods are, they take them into their afterlife"
[00:26] Juli: "and that they give peace to those that loved that person"
[00:28] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "everybody dies. even guys like me who have none of that."
[00:30] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "Dying. It's just a part of living."
[00:30] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *Hector looks like he hasn't given this topic much thought...ever*
[00:31] Juli: "of course everyone dies. But that isn't what's important, it's what you make of your life. Do you have a god that you believe in?"
[00:31] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *shakes his head* "why would I?"
[00:33] Juli: "just curious. I know you are from Juarez here, but I don't know a lot about the place. I haven't been here long. I am a daughter of Zeus. Do you know who that is?"
[00:33] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "never heard of him."
[00:37] Juli: *chuckles* "why doesn't that surprise me? Zeus is an old Greek god, technically, he's considered the king of the Greek gods. He's immortal, very powerful, and has an immense amount of power. He is my father. When I pray, I pray to him for help and guidance. When I die, I will go to his afterlife on Mt. Olympus. "
[00:38] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "never heard of the Greeks either."
[00:38] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *thinks this all sounds like another fiction book*
[00:38] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "So you don't _really_ die?"
[00:40] Juli: *taps him very lightly on the shoulder* "See! This is why you should read more!" *chuckling* "you are correct. When this body dies, I don't really die. I go to an afterlife, which from what's been described to me, is basically like a really big, fun party. And that's forever. Every god has some rules that you have to follow to get to that afterlife. "
[00:41] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "Why don't I just do you the favor then?" *smiles*
[00:42] Juli: "of what, killing me? I'd rather you didn't. Jeff would be very upset with you"
[00:42] Juli: *smiling*
[00:42] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "So the people you love won't be there waiting?"
[00:45] Juli: "besides, I'm not sure you could kill me. I'm pretty tough. I hope the people I love will be there, but there is no guarantee. I don't think Will is going to be in my afterlife-he wasn't a follower of the Greek pantheon. I don't know about Jeff, I'll have to try and convert him. Besides, if I go now, I won't get to see Medea grow up, or see how you and this group turn out. Not to mention, all the friends I'll miss making here. And I'd miss any children that I might have while I'm here. The afterlife is a good place to end up, but I like this life too, and intend on hanging around as long as I can"
[00:46] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "A really big fun party would have all your friends there."
[00:47] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "Sounds like a shitty deal to me."
[00:48] Juli: "I hope so. But I don't know for sure, not having been there. I'd make other friends though, I always do"
[00:48] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "How couldn't you know. Just ask dad, right?"
[00:51] Juli: "last time I had any contact with Zeus, he sent me a message via Hermes, one of his messengers, who got annoyed at me and put cat pee in my laundry" *chuckles at the memory* "I've never met my father, and he doesn't often interfere with life down here on earth, not unless he needs something. Having a god for a father means I have a lot of skills most folks don't have. It doesn't mean I have a way to get divine help whenever I want it though. That's probably a good thing"
[00:51] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "Or an answer to a simple question."
[00:52] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "Sounds like my fathers," *voice trails off.
[00:52] Juli: " you have more than one father?"
[00:53] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "I was passed around home to home, nobody wanted me, nobody gave two shits about me. It's the same story. They didn't interfere unless they wanted something. Which usually meant knocking my head around. I don't have any use for family. They're all fucked up."
[00:55] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "But I promise never to piss in your laundry," *tries to smile but can't*
[00:55] Juli: "I'm sorry about that. I was an orphan, but I at least was lucky enough to be raised in an orphanage who gave a shit about the kids. We weren't badly treated. Families don't have to be bad, I hope you can figure that out"
[00:55] Juli: *laughs* "I'm glad to hear that. I'm not sure even my cleanse spell can fix that odor"
[00:58] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *tilts his head, shrugs, and drinks some more and lights a cigarette* "Probably not. But, yea, I look forward to being eaten by worms and rats. If you're right about the afterlife, I'll be pissed if I don't."
[00:59] Juli: "don't worry, you won't know. I'll have to see what I can do about getting you into Olympus. I'm told the alcohol there is quite, um...intoxicating"
[01:00] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "how's the pussy?" *ops, can't unring that bell*
[01:01] Juli: *laughs* "undoubtedly pretty fine...."
[01:02] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *daydreams momentarily about nailing chicks on some mountain somewhere, then inhales deeply and exhales.* "Sooooo," *nods at the book* "tell me more about this story?"
[01:03] Juli: "you'd probably find it pretty boring. It's about a young girl growing up extremely poor, and how she manages to find herself, get an education, find love, and basically succeed in her life"
[01:03] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "Yep. Definitely fiction."
[01:04] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "I thought it was about a tree.....ooooh."
[01:05] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "So you need to read and love to succeed. That's the point?"
[01:05] Juli: *smiles at him* "there you go, you didn't even have to read it. Good job!"
[01:06] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "I can smell shit from a kilometer away. After all, I grew up in it." *amused by himself for some reason*
[01:07] Juli: *shakes her head, chuckling* "just wait till you fall for someone, that should be pretty entertaining I think"
[01:08] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *rubs his the back of his shaven head* "then I'll have succeeded? Yea, that's shit."
[01:09] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "Waking up the next day is success."
[01:10] Juli: "there is more than one kind of success. Waking up the next day is a big kind. Loving someone is another, as well as being loved. So is having a quiet day with some simple pleasures you enjoy. "
[01:10] Juli: *chuckles softly* "you have me over here being quite the philosopher tonight"
[01:10] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "You like it though."
[01:13] Juli: "sometimes. Sometimes not so much. But I like you, and I worry about you sometimes. And you seem interested. So you get a crash course in Life According to Anna Maria" *grins at Hector* "I guess there are probably worse things"
[01:14] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *winks* "No need to worry about me. Why do you worry about me?"
[01:15] Juli: "I worry about all my friends"
[01:17] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *another startled look* "yea, but why worry when there's nothing to worry about? it's not healthy" *drinks some more booze.*
[01:19] Juli: *shrugs* "it is part of being me I guess" *fishes in her bag for a couple of MRE's, and hands one to Hector* "here...eat something. We are going to be pretty busy come morning" *opens one for herself*
[01:19] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *goes back some things already said* "and how is me falling in love entertaining?"
[01:20] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: *Takes the MRE.* "Rich." *smirks his characteristic smirk*
[01:21] n_koroleva@hotmail.com: "last time I was offered food there was big hoopla." *wonders if Anna wrote about that, too.*
[01:21] Juli: "it just will be. Some day, a beautiful woman is going to have you wrapped around her little finger. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show" *grins at him*
