Whitewall: Places of Note Observatory: Astrologists have found Whitewall’s particular altitude, and position to have much potential. Though on the more promising nights of star gazing, the Northern lights tend to block the view of their stars. On the highest hill top away from most of the town’s population, Whitewall has built an observatory to help bring in the scholars and researchers of the night sky.
The observatory also acts as the place of learning for children during the day. No one forces the children to go (except maybe the parents) but attendance is free, though all needed school supplies must be supplied by the child's family.
In the evenings and afternoon the observatory library it's also acts as a place of debates in philosophy
Think of a smaller school library, not huge compared to ours, but on rifts and for the town's size, Whitewall's library is rather impressive. More impressive than the amount of books there, are the amount of original works written there. Many studies from scholars that have traveled to far off places have managed to wiggle their way into the libraries. Plus many books are written on astronomy, biology, zoology, botany, history (strangely enough there's much more pre rifts history found in them then there is any other) by the many scholors that exist in the little town.
They welcome any and all donations. They have been known to offer a reward for books that find their way there, and to financially support the writing of others (including any journeys that may be needed to be made to obtain the information and eveidence necessary) so long as there is an agreement made to insure that such fellow scholars come back.
Bio-Dome: The observatory isn’t the only place built for scholars, the study of plants and animals also take place inside a large well structured dome, that slightly resembles a large globed greenhouse where the climate is easily controlled from one room to next.
There are many animals and plants that can be found there that aren't indigneous to the area, are kept behind small glass walls, though all the many tropical birds that can befound there are free to fly as they will.
The animals are small, and mostly domesticated (there are no dangerous, or wild animals kept there), many having being brought in to be healed from injury, and are slowly being reintroduced to the wild.
Others are one's that found themselves rifted from their own home to the surrounding area, doomed to die away from their natural habitat, Whitewall has set up an area for each, and there's room to make more area's if need be, though they refuse to make any areas that may be poisonous to humans so any alien lifeforms that are found that cannot survive on terrain normal to rifts earth will be treated well, but it's unlikely anything can be done for them.
Due to the large natural and unnatural plant and animal life in and around Whitewall’s western side, botanists and biologists are drawn to the area. Especially so, after finding Whitewall’s extensive up-to-date tools, and lab areas.
Guest labs are set up in each area of different climate to allow any travelling through to study for themselves, use of the labs are free, though any materials used may have a small cost, while any damages to the labs will be expected to be fully compensated for.
Flip’s Mansion: The equivalent to Whitewall’s grand hotel, a stay there is living in the lap of luxury. There are many among Whitewall’s residents alone that save up for a year before spending a week’s vacation in their own town. The grand hotel was made to treat rulers to the finest, every room is a ornate suite, suitable for royalty. Its guest list, though, is much different, accepting anyone that can pay the large price tag that comes with the royal treatment.
(included in the price are ski runs, use off the natural hot springs, VIP passes into all study areas, guided tours of the town and area surrounding, and attendance to arena games)
This picture best represents the design of the building:

www.fdu.edu/images/mansions/DSC00134-19.jpgFor more information about Flip's Manor, see elsewhere on the site, aptly titled Flip's Manor Town hall: also known to the people as 'the Haven' it is reminscent in shape and design of the olympic stadium
musicm.mcgill.ca/netads/http/img/stadium.jpgThe Town Hall is a huge structure made to look more like a futuristic piece of modern art, than an actual building. It is large enough to hold the entire town of Whitewall many times over, and was built in a way that it could be expanded on for when the town got larger. Inside is several magnificent, giant rooms.
The Main hall has enough room to hold booths for the entire market place, and is reminscent of today's modern shopping malls. The main hall's shops are only occupied when forced indoors due to weather.
This is the largest among the rooms, as it houses the many games, weapons and vehicles, and other supply booths, and this is where food court is.
A public bedroom of sorts for all to sleep, with a heated mdc domed skylight (made for melting the snow off the roof) that has the option to be closed. When the town is forced inside due to weather, the citizens are kept safe here, and there is easily enough room for not just the citizens, but an average sized army!
A huge gymnasium, with enough room for all to stretch their legs and get some exercise, also many children’s games are set up to be played during the day, along with an underground route to the sports areana that has an option of being closed off with several blast doors. (it's always closed off at night or when the town hall is not in use)
There are enough public wash rooms to compensate the huge amount of people.
The Town Hall is a great pride of the city, designed and supervised by Mericho Ford (the head mechanic of Whitewall)
Ski Lodge: The ski lodge houses the hot springs as well as all the guided tours in and around town. (though Flip's manor has easy access to the hot springs as well)The ski lodge offers skiing lessons, rentable or buyable equipment, and provides transportation up and down the ski-able parts of the mountain.
