misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:36:18 PM): All caught up now. You can chatter with Lery or Wels
taus.solace (4/18/2011 7:37:32 PM): she'd be interested in finding Wels, since he'd be staying behind.. plus there's the matter of the sealing wax to locate
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:38:38 PM): Hehehe
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:40:26 PM): Lery offers to accompany you
taus.solace (4/18/2011 7:42:30 PM): "I would welcome the company. Would you know where he would be?"
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:42:59 PM): "Probably in the dojo, he lives on the floor above"
taus.solace (4/18/2011 7:44:40 PM): "then, that sounds like the best place to start." *folds her letter and slips it into one of her side pouches. Then sets off towards the dojo*
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:46:38 PM): Lery nods and walks beside you. You pass the urchins cleaning downstairs. Upstairs you catch a startled Rachel, who has an arm behind her. "Oh. Let me get Wels, he's soaking in the tub, says it helps his aches and pains'
taus.solace (4/18/2011 7:47:45 PM): "Sorry, I did not mean to.. interrupt. Was hoping to catch him at a good time."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:48:54 PM): She shrugs "It's ok. I know you have a lot of preparing to do, more for those going than us staying" And she turns to get him. Roll per, please
taus.solace (4/18/2011 7:49:18 PM): per = d20?
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:50:50 PM): Yeah
taus.solace (4/18/2011 7:50:59 PM): 17
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:51:50 PM): She moves her arm out of your field of vision, but you think you catch a wet spot on the back of her dress as she walks out. Lery seems oblivious
taus.solace (4/18/2011 7:53:31 PM): *shrugs to herself, not knowing what to think about that, and waits quietly next to Lery for Wels.*
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:55:27 PM): Lery places a hand on your shoulder. After several minutes Wels comes out. He's still a bit damp and only in loose bottoms and a robe. He's very fit for his age, but very scarred and moving stiffly. "Sorry, I'm not so spry as I used to be. A long life of hard living"
taus.solace (4/18/2011 7:57:04 PM): *she nods at Wels* "I understand, I did not want to interrupt, but time is growing short, and there is something I need to ask of you."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:57:41 PM): Wels nods. "Come, let us sit and talk, then" And he leads you into a sitting room "Rachel, some tea for our guests, please"
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 7:58:06 PM): He motions to a couch and sits in a comfy looking chair. "How can I help you?"
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:01:41 PM): *takes a seat on the couch, drawing the still-folded letter from her pouch* "I mean to send this to one of my people, my grandmother. I first.. would like to have some sealing wax to ensure it reaches her, for it is for her eyes only. Lery thought you may have some."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 8:09:19 PM): Wels nods. "I still have some left from my days at Camelot. I hadn't expected to ever need it, but you are welcome to it" As Wels speaks, Rachel enters, bringing a tray of tea which she sets down on a table between you and Wels. Lery begins pouring. Wels looks to Rachel, "Please get the sealing wax from my desk" She nods and quietly walks out. While she is gone, Lery passes out tea. Rachel hands you the sealing wax, a seal, and a Bic lighter. Per again
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:09:28 PM): 16
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 8:11:27 PM): You're pretty sure her dress is damp from blood, but she seems absolutely fine. She takes a seat in Wels lap, though. Lery raises an eyebrow then grins at Wels, who shrugs
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:14:12 PM): *takes the items from Rachel with a nod, then sets to work folding the corners of the letter until they all meet in the middle. She heats the wax and stamps it in the middle, making sure that it is secure before using the seal on the wet wax.*
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:17:22 PM): "I can see this off easily enough, but there is something else I have to ask of you. I had talked things over with Anna a few days ago, before news of this.. trouble, that is seeing us off. I leave with Anna, Elexorian, and the rest. But I do not know when my grandmother will be able to send word back here. I had asked that she meet at the water hole near here, in two weeks' time. I had included the date in the letter."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 8:17:58 PM): Wels nods
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:20:20 PM): *she frowns slightly* "I am.. still not certain what it is we are up against, let alone when we will be able to return. I would like to ask that if I am not back at the appointed time, that you or someone equally able would be able to meet at the place, in my stead."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 8:21:39 PM): Wels nods. "Have you another message to give her at that time?"
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:26:27 PM): "She should know that I travel with a group, who would not see harm come to me, and who would stand behind me in the decision I have made... And she should also know that I have plans to return here with such a group.. though I have not given her the location of this particular place. I feel I can trust her, but I cannot trust others."
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:30:48 PM): *folds her hands firmly around her cup of tea* "And, if there is none to greet her at the time.. she should presume me dead. My...." *grumbles quietly* "how I dislike to this word.." *resumes her normal volume* "My fate should not be left unknown to her, as much as I have tried to break all contact from my people until this time."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 8:31:57 PM): Wels nods. "I will deliver the message personally"
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:34:27 PM): *she nods* "thank you. It is not often that I must ask anything of anyone, but.. this cannot be helped. I cannot be in two places at the same time."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 8:37:32 PM): Wels "I understand, especially family obligations. Your message will be delivered, you need not worry any further"
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:40:53 PM): *nods again, and quirks a grim smile* "Her name is Eunike, it would not do to greet her without a name."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 8:45:15 PM): Wels chuckles. "You are right, a name is the barest of a proper greeting":
taus.solace (4/18/2011 8:53:32 PM): "I can think of nothing else to tell her. She may choose to leave a note or message with you, or may choose instead to send to me. Take no offense if she does not trust you, My people are.. not accustomed to bringing those of the 'outside' to help in family affairs."
misfit_kotld (4/18/2011 8:54:51 PM): Wels nods

Eunike,
Remember the lessons we shared. You often told me I reminded you of a
much younger you.
You told me stories of how you had battled many of the same thoughts
as I in your younger years.
You mentioned many times that once you were Named, you embraced the
Path that had chosen you.
You soon became the greatest among the Slayers, earning much prestige.
And you had told me once I was Named, I would become great as well,
even though I fought against the Fates' decision through all of my youth.
The tattoos, I despised them, as well as those who had to guide me
into that room when it was time.
I am still fighting, and I wish I could say it was what against what I
had been trained. But there is no training for this.
I seek your help; you are the only one who would be understanding.
In two weeks' time, find me near Juarez, Mexico. I have an enclosed
map, the meeting area circled.
If it is not possible to arrive, send word there with where I may find you.
But do not expect me to return, for I will come neither willingly nor
alone. It is not an option open to me.
It is a choice that I have made, one of the few i have _ever_ been
allowed to make.
I will not sign this letter. You know the things of which I speak. You
alone will recognize my words without my signing a name.
And, even as I do not wish to return, I cannot stay silent of the
trouble I have heard is brewing.
Some of the locals of Juarez feel it is centered around their city. I
do not know for certain of what this trouble is.
I am told it is very big, evil, and dangerous. I do not know to what
extent its evil will spread.
I go to lend my aid against the fight, and I do not know if I will
return to the aforementioned place at the appointed time.
I will make certain to send a comrade in my place who may be at
liberty to divulge more information.
My fate should not be left unknown to you.
If none is there when you arrive, then you may assume I am dead, and
may tell the Patriarch as such.
But I will make every effort I can to be there myself, or to have
someone meet you.
Wels is the one you should expect.
