Phere would wait until the next time they camp before she'd approach Anna..
dakoiah: *anna is sitting outside her tent, reading a book and enjoying the quiet*
taus.solace: *after checking to make sure Lery is occupied with something, Phere approaches* "Anna.. could I. could we talk a bit, the two of us?"
dakoiah: *looks up, a little surprised* "sure" *waves at the chair next to hers* "have a seat, Jeff is out scouting"
dakoiah: *and sets down her book after carefully marking her page*
taus.solace: *takes the gestured seat, trying to make herself as comfortable* "this.. is not.. as easy as I had thought"
dakoiah: *smiles at her* "I promise not to bite if that makes it any easier" *obviously trying to diffuse the tension*
taus.solace: *gives a half-smile in return, then grows serious* "A reply to my letter has come."
dakoiah: "and?"
taus.solace: "And.. it is as the best that I can hope for. They will no longer be looking for me. I am free of my people. When the others are gathered, I will give more into what it means, for it is a bit more than just being free. But, I will wait on that."
dakoiah: "I would imagine you don't know whether to be relieved or sad. It's sad that your family isn't willing to be a part of your life, and what you make of it, but at least they won't come force you to do something you don't want too"
taus.solace: *she nods* "Going back, even though it is an invitation left open by my grandmother, is not an option I will consider, not ever. I have found more life in these last few weeks, traveling with this group, than I ever dreamed I would have had I stayed one with my people."
dakoiah: *smiles* "that's good to hear. I think we have a group of very good people, even if some of us are a little confused"
taus.solace: *she smiles slightly* "Even while I am not the most social among you--for it seems that most of you have worries enough-- there is one I have found it...very easy to speak with." *she then blushes a shade or two*
dakoiah: *smiles* "Lery is a good man, and handy to have around in a fight. Just watch him, he cheats at cards"
taus.solace: "Perhaps he would not be the one to ask to teach me how to play, in that case. But he has opened my mind to.. many things, some I had thought would never be within my grasp. I have spent the last few days trying to figure all these things out, and.. I felt I needed to talk to you to make a better plan. For, the future."
dakoiah: "what do you want to do?"
taus.solace: "One, is something I mentioned, before we left on this ride. I am no longer running, for there is none I need to run from. And this.. group.. is the closest family I have seen, in many years.. Yet, I still think I am an outsider to your collective, I do not know if I am meant to belong, but Lery.. he has mentioned several times, that I could join as a part of your crew.. for I have no place that I can call home now."
taus.solace: *she clasps her hands in front of her* "Forgive me if it seems I am rambling. I have been trying to find the right time to approach you with this."
dakoiah: "Pherenike, honestly, I'm not looking for more crew members" *frowns* "I have lost too many crew members lately, and I have a family to think about. I was thinking about giving up the pirating." *looks at Phere seriously* "however, I fully believe you are a member of this crew already" *waves her arm, gesturing at the whole camp*
dakoiah: "you would be a welcome member of the orphanage staff"
taus.solace: *she looks at Anna, smling very slightly* "I have no experience with children, aside from my own experineces growing up, unpleasant for me as they were. I was not trained in the ways of the Domestics..of teaching, or..anything of those lines."
dakoiah: *smiles* "don't worry, most of the guys don't either. There are other jobs there. Kids like that need positive role models, and everyone in Juarez needs some form of protection. Barring that, you are welcome to stay and work at whatever you feel like"
taus.solace: *smiles, growing increasingly relaxed* "I will not teach them to fight as a Slayer, that is something I do not wish to do with my own children, when that day comes... not unless they are fully interested and are old enough to choose for their own whether they wish to fight. B
taus.solace: "But I will not make that choice for them."
dakoiah: "fair enough. That's actually preferable honestly. People who do work they love, never work a day in their lives. I try not to force anything on the kids"
taus.solace: *she nods* "It is one reason I have not been an active Slayer.. at least, not active in the eyes of my people. I have killed more Vampires than I have taken credit for..." *fingering her tooth-necklace as she speaks* "..but I can no longer dwell on what I would have chosen. I am what they made me, and i can do more good simply accepting it. But for me, not for them who made me into this."
dakoiah: *nods* "understandable"
taus.solace: *she draws in a slow, deep breath* "There was.. just one other thing I felt I wanted to talk to you about.. I do not know if it is important now, given something you have just mentioned."
dakoiah: "what is that?"
taus.solace: "Lery, has often referred to you as "captain", as he is.. one of your.. crew,. When you.. found us... I felt.. uncertain if I should have spoken to you earlier, as I started being more.. comfortable around him... and aware of.. how I felt, and feel, towards him.'
taus.solace: *her blush becoming increasingly pronounced as she speaks*
dakoiah: "Phere, Lery is a member of my crew, but he is a free man. He's free to see whoever he wishes. But if you want to know, I wish you the best. Lery is a great man, and you would be hard placed to do better"
taus.solace: *she flashes a wide, rare smile at Anna* "Thank you. I did not know if it was more proper that I seek permission.. but I did not want to ask, perhaps afraid of the answer when so many things were starting to be made clear to me where they were not before.."
dakoiah: *chuckles* "the guys are all very loyal, and have been with me a long time. I can see where you are coming from. "
taus.solace: *she nods slightly* "thank you for letting me come to you.. I know I tend to stay to mysefl, but.. some habits are.. hard to break, even when thoughts weigh heavily."
dakoiah: *shakes her head* "don't worry about it. You do what you need to do, and don't worry about what we think. Most of us are pretty direct anyway, and will let you know whether you want tooo or not" *grins*
taus.solace: *smiles again* "I just wanted to make certain that.. I did not somehow offend you. That is the last thing I would wish, even now as I find a place within this group." *she grows serious* " As I was telling Lery.. against vampires, I know what to do. But with where we are going, to deal with this unknown dragon, I feel unprepared, and untrained.. but to go along for the journey was a better option than staying and worrying of the situation of my people."
dakoiah: *nods* "honestly, I feel pretty untrained and unprepared myself. I'm not sure what we are going to find, nor what we are going to do when we do find it. But, ignoring the problem wasn't an option either. So here we are"
