(20981) Pherenike: *casts a grateful smile to Lery as they walk away from Ringo, then grows more serious as she approaches Ibycus* ""Would this.. be a good time to speak?"
(20977) BastardGM: Ibycus looks up "oh! Um... You are..." he frowns a moment "...Two of our rescuers. I am most grateful"
(20981) Pherenike: *nods and kneels on the ground next to the log* "I... apologize if I was.. abrupt with you earlier."
(20977) BastardGM: Ibycus "No matter, it's been stressful for us all. Now, how may I help you?"
(20981) Pherenike: *tightens her jaw briefly before answering* "You recognized me as a Slayer. You also mentioned you had not seen anyone of my Clan before. Ringo said he has told you nothing of me.. and mentioned that perhaps you know of a way to.. make me not as recognizable by my tattoos?"
(20977) BastardGM: Ibycus "Cover your... I believe I can come up with a solution, but I'd need a lab to do it. For now, i suggest more concealing clothing"
(20981) Pherenike: "May I ask.. as to the nature of your solution?"
(20977) BastardGM: Ibycus "Body paint, you could say. It would hide your tattoos and hold up to adventuring"
(20981) Pherenike: *smiles a bit* "For how long would it last?"

(20981) Pherenike: *nods, then breaks into a slow smile* "This could be the answer I was looking for. Strips of leather had been my previous method of concealment in the heat, but it was a bit.. obvious."
[19:55] Misfit: He frowns "Most obvious. The only problem, I need access to a laboratory and certain ingredients. And will need to experiment with coloration once I have the actual recipie for the skin paint down"

[20:02] Misfit: He looks to Lery "Your captain has offered us sanctuary there and I hear from Ajax and that fascinating ex-vampire that we can find most everything within the city"
[20:08] taus.solace: *glances to Lery then refocuses on Ibycus* "Once we finish what we have come all this way to do, I believe we will be returning to Juarez unless.. something yet unforeseen comes in our way between now and such time."
[20:13] Misfit: Ibycus nods "Uncertainty is a part of life. Should we live to Juarez, I will work on this paint for you and should you also return to juarez, I will show your partner how to apply it"

[20:22] taus.solace: "I do not have any contacts in the city, aside from Anna and her crew, and, Ringo.. I.. am wary about cities, more especially of chance meetings ... of others, like ourselves. I do not enjoy the hiding, the seclusion.. Even as I have come this far on this journey, it.. has not been made much easier."
[20:24] Misfit: Ibycus laughs "We understand discretion and paranoia of one's own far too well. We were left to die on that world, after all. The less you know, the better off you are, but we will tell none of your plight, of that you may rest assured"
[20:34] taus.solace: *she nods and smiles sympathetically* "It is.. refreshing to hear, thank you. It is not easy, as you may well know, when the only ones you feel you can trust are those with whom you travel." *she swallows the lump in her throat while reaching for Lery's hand*
[20:45] taus.solace: *she continues speaking to Ibycus* "I hope to learn how to break out of my.. self-imposed seclusion, but the best way I can see is ... if I did not as I did when any of my people last saw me. I have the same tattoos.. and in the same places.. I wonder--perhaps you would be able to.. adjust one, rather than conceal it wholly?
[20:54] Misfit: Lery takes it. Ibycus frowns "I can cover one up with another, but it will be very painful, and I cannot do so here. I lack the materials necessary, even were this a clean and safe place in which to perform the rituals required"

[21:10] taus.solace: *nods solemnly* "The crest of my people is a part of it.. as well as a symbol to note the role for which I was.. Chosen." *she shakes her head fiercely*
[21:11] Misfit: "Chosen? You did not elect to become Slayer?"
[21:17] taus.solace: "That is correct. Most seemed content when Chosen as a Slayer, or even, to the other Roles. But I.. I have never accepted it as the others did. I wanted... other things, and spent more of my time fighting those who would instruct me than I did in learning."
[21:18] taus.solace: *tightens her jaw and clenches her free hand into a fist at her side*
[21:19] Misfit: Ibycus frowns "That's monstrous. I cannot undo the damage done by your marks, but I will be glad to purge your clan's crest for their crimes"
[21:27] taus.solace: "Early in my exile, I dreamed of finding a way to remove each one beyond the six. But while I have since come to accept what was done, it does not mean I wish to keep them displayed for all to see. I do not call myself a Slayer, nor do I go out of my way to hunt.. as a lasting act of defiance. They made me what I am, but that does not mean I must continue to do as they wish."

[21:56] Misfit: "And it's a dragon doing all this possessing?"
[22:02] taus.solace: "I.. believe so.. " *she frowns* "In truth, I have been more occupied with my own thoughts that I could not share with the rest... All I know for certain, it calls itself Nigel."
[22:06] taus.solace: *looks to Lery* "There has not been anything more solidifying than that?"
[22:07] Misfit: Ibycus "To reach out like this, it takes an incredibly powerful being. Even worse, where you travel has all manner of undead roaming."

[22:12] taus.solace: *she nods at Ibycus* "I am willing to go where is necessary to end this foe. The boy has tried to make small talk with me, yet I avoid speaking more than a few words to him.. as I remain uncertain whether it is him or the other in control."
[22:16] Misfit: Ibycus frowns "Dragons aren't known for possessing others, but Nightstalkers are known to be tolerant of undead. They will have use for a slayer, if nothing else to clear the undead that a powerful dragon might want to discourage treasure hunters"
[22:23] taus.solace: *nods and smiles slightly* "I have made the decision to go where my blade is needed.. Unlike others of my peers, I do not seek the Undead exclusively, but rather, if their paths and mine cross."

[22:29] taus.solace: "I distance myself from what my people desire. I witnessed one who was once a vampire step into the sun. And that this same being was there to dispatch her former master.. Had another of my people been there, I feel certain they would have turned their blade against any and all of those who have fangs. That is not my way."
[22:30] Misfit: Ibycus "The creature the young Knight has directed such ire at. I do admit, she causes us all to itch at her presence, she's saved all our lives countless times already"
[22:35] taus.solace: *she nods* "I was wary at first of her continued presence, but I watched her use a borrowed weapon against others of her kind, then return it without any indication she wanted to use it against us, and I have seen more of the same while in her company. I believe if she had less than honorable intent, she has had plenty of opportunity to do something before now."
[22:35] Misfit: "then again, i am also curious to study the ritual by which she was liberated from her master. I've heard of some claiming that ability, but never of it being proven and verified"
[22:39] taus.solace: "Anna would be one to talk to about that.. She had performed the ritual."
[22:40] Misfit: "Really? Fascinating. I've heard some imteresting things about her"
[22:45] taus.solace: *nods* "Perhaps... even Gash could explain the ritual, as well, as it was she who showed Anna what to do."
[22:47] Misfit: "It gets more interesting"
[20:34] Misfit: As you approach Ringo he looks up and takes a long drag on his cigar. "Business or pleasure?"
[20:38] taus.solace: "Buisiness..." she says slowly, as if caught off guard from the greeting. "I do not know you quite so well as the others seem to, and in truth I did not expect our paths would cross again after I left that place by the river. I have never before had a need or desire to revisit places I have been to previously."
[20:43] taus.solace: "The reason for this visit is because.. for the first time, I have a few reasons I should return to Juarez after we finish what we set out to do. And I wondered... if you meant to bring these people back there as well?"
[20:45] Misfit: Ringo nods "Not that they've anywhere else to go"
[20:48] taus.solace: *nods* "I.. certainly understand how they feel. I have been talking to one of them, Ibycus.."
[20:49] Misfit: Ringo laughs "The alchemist. For all he was near dead when i found him, he's taken to this like it's an adventure"
[20:54] taus.solace: *nods* "He has agreed to help me with something I never thought would be possible. I have long avoided showing my tattoos, fearing recognition.. You were the first to .. see them all, other than the one who placed them, and those who held me still.." *she shakes her head as if trying to toss out the recollections of the past*
[20:55] Misfit: "Those marks were the least part of what I saw"

[21:11] taus.solace: *nods* "I do not know how much longer it will be before we are to return to Juarez.. and I did not see very much of Juarez in the brief time I was there. I would like to know how I may be able to find Ibycus again, once I make my way there again."
[21:18] Misfit: "Anna has offered us sanctuary in her orphanage. Even should they relocate, I doubt it will be far"
[21:25] taus.solace: *she nods* "If Ibycus should find a place other than the orphanage, I hope he will inform someone his whereabouts, that I may be able to find him.. He has given me something to think about, between now and such time as I see him again." *casts a glance to her left wrist*
[21:34] Misfit: Ringo nods "I will be sure of it" as his glance follows her glance "Having family issues as well"
[21:39] taus.solace: *she nods* "It is because of my people that I have never felt comfortable in staying or returning to any one place. I have been running from them for five summers. And still I feel I must hide, even all the more now. I do not know what they will do should they happen to discover that I am not as dead as my grandmother would have them believe."
[21:40] Misfit: He laughs "Nothing so bad as what my people did to their own. We are all clanless here"
[21:42] taus.solace: "And what of your people, those you escaped from? They will not attempt to follow you?"
[21:43] Misfit: "They were dumped in zombie hell and left to die. So long as they lay low, they will be assumed zombie food"
[21:47] taus.solace: *nods* "So they are to go into hiding, much as I have been for all of this same."

[21:54] taus.solace: "I wonder..." *frowns thoughtfully, glancing back in the direction she came from* "I do not know if Ibycus has yet considered it for himself or for the others of your people, or if they feel as strongly as I do about my own... treatment at the hands of my people. Becoming a Slayer.. was not something I was able to choose."
[21:56] Misfit: Ringo snorts "What, you think they liked being dumped on a dying world to feed the undead?"

What I was trying to get at, is they, like myself, are considered to be dead. Yet, I know too well the fear of being discovered, whether intentional or not. The Slayers and scholars of my own people are sent out to all corners of this world..."
[22:07] taus.solace: "I do not know how far-traveled your people are, but there could yet remain that sense of insecurity among them, as it has remained in me for all of this time. I have not had the same dangers they have faced, but I have been struggling all the same, with the idea that I am free of my people, yet, the fear of rediscovery has occupied much of my thoughts, to the point of great distraction.. Ibycus mentioned it would be painful, but I know I will welcome a few hours, or even a few days, of physical discomfrot, for the chance to fully and completely erase the last remnant that could be used to identify as to where I came from.."
[22:22] Misfit: Ringo nods. "It is something to think about. We will have time to discuss it on the way to Juarez"
[22:32] taus.solace: *nods* "I know the circumstances surrounding your people's exodus and my own are not the same, but I understand the uncertainty they must now face. At least they have the option to face the future... together."

[22:35] Misfit: Ringo "I do hope you're not convincing him to give up his worldly ways, he's quite the partier"

I am not certain what my own future holds, as to what I will do next, after we are able to set on the return journey. Once I can count myself truly free of my people.. only then can life for me truly begin."

[20:45] Misfit: Ringo nods "Not that they've anywhere else to go"
[20:48] taus.solace: *nods* "I.. certainly understand how they feel. I have been talking to one of them, Ibycus.."
[20:49] Misfit: Ringo laughs "The alchemist. For all he was near dead when i found him, he's taken to this like it's an adventure"
[20:54] taus.solace: *nods* "He has agreed to help me with something I never thought would be possible. I have long avoided showing my tattoos, fearing recognition.. You were the first to .. see them all, other than the one who placed them, and those who held me still.." *she shakes her head as if trying to toss out the recollections of the past*
[20:55] Misfit: "Those marks were the least part of what I saw"
[21:02] taus.solace: *gives a subtle nod* "Yes, well.. " *clears her throat* "About Ibycus, he said he would need materials, ingredients, which he does not have here. Would.. you have the means to help him get what he needs?"
[21:05] Misfit: Ringo nods. "I would"
[21:11] taus.solace: *nods* "I do not know how much longer it will be before we are to return to Juarez.. and I did not see very much of Juarez in the brief time I was there. I would like to know how I may be able to find Ibycus again, once I make my way there again."
[21:18] Misfit: "Anna has offered us sanctuary in her orphanage. Even should they relocate, I doubt it will be far"
[21:25] taus.solace: *she nods* "If Ibycus should find a place other than the orphanage, I hope he will inform someone his whereabouts, that I may be able to find him.. He has given me something to think about, between now and such time as I see him again." *casts a glance to her left wrist*
[21:34] Misfit: Ringo nods "I will be sure of it" as his glance follows her glance "Having family issues as well"
[21:39] taus.solace: *she nods* "It is because of my people that I have never felt comfortable in staying or returning to any one place. I have been running from them for five summers. And still I feel I must hide, even all the more now. I do not know what they will do should they happen to discover that I am not as dead as my grandmother would have them believe."
[21:40] Misfit: He laughs "Nothing so bad as what my people did to their own. We are all clanless here"
[21:42] taus.solace: "And what of your people, those you escaped from? They will not attempt to follow you?"
[21:43] Misfit: "They were dumped in zombie hell and left to die. So long as they lay low, they will be assumed zombie food"
[21:47] taus.solace: *nods* "So they are to go into hiding, much as I have been for all of this same."
[21:47] Misfit: He nods
[21:54] taus.solace: "I wonder..." *frowns thoughtfully, glancing back in the direction she came from* "I do not know if Ibycus has yet considered it for himself or for the others of your people, or if they feel as strongly as I do about my own... treatment at the hands of my people. Becoming a Slayer.. was not something I was able to choose."
[21:56] Misfit: Ringo snorts "What, you think they liked being dumped on a dying world to feed the undead?"
[22:03] taus.solace: *she frowns at her own poor choice of words* "No, of..of course not... Forgive me, I did not mean like that. What I was trying to get at, is they, like myself, are considered to be dead. Yet, I know too well the fear of being discovered, whether intentional or not. The Slayers and scholars of my own people are sent out to all corners of this world..."
[22:07] taus.solace: "I do not know how far-traveled your people are, but there could yet remain that sense of insecurity among them, as it has remained in me for all of this time. My Mark bears the crest of our clan, along with a symbol of my Given Role. I intend to have Ibycus change it, so I will have a mark of a new clan.. or an imaginary one."
[22:10] Misfit: Ringo nods "And you think he should recrest the rest of us as well?"
[22:17] taus.solace: "They have just come away from a great danger, and they all have more life to look foward to. I have not had the same dangers they have faced, but I have been struggling all the same, with the idea that I am free of my people, yet, the fear of rediscovery has occupied much of my thoughts, to the point of great distraction.. "
[22:18] taus.solace: "It is something they could think about, when they are ready. Ibycus mentioned it would be painful, but I know I will welcome a few hours, or even a few days, of physical discomfrot, for the chance to fully and completely erase the last remnant that could be used to identify as to where I came from.."
[22:22] Misfit: Ringo nods. "It is something to think about. We will have time to discuss it on the way to Juarez"
[22:32] taus.solace: *nods* "I know the circumstances surrounding your people's exodus and my own are not the same, but I understand the uncertainty they must now face. At least they have the option to face the future... together."
[22:34] Misfit: "Looks like you have a future too, if Lery's face is any indication"
[22:35] Misfit: Ringo "I do hope you're not convincing him to give up his worldly ways, he's quite the partier"
[22:37] Misfit: Lery stammers a bit
[22:39] taus.solace: "I was on my own for five years, never knowing who I could trust. They at least have each other, and you.. and by extension, Anna and the rest. It took a couple of weeks before I felt I could open up with any of them.." *smiles to Lery* "Lery was the first I grew comfortable with, and still knows far more than the rest do."
[22:41] Misfit: Ringo laughs "I should know you as well as he does, maybe even let him be Lucky Pierre"
[22:55] taus.solace: "As far as his worldly ways.. We have talked about the ideas of traveling together, though I have never been on a ship before. I am not certain what my own future holds, as to what I will do next, after we are able to set on the return journey. Once I can count myself truly free of my people.. only then can life for me truly begin."
[22:59] Misfit: Ringo laughs "I see he still has a lot of educating to do"
[23:02] Misfit: Lery coughs
[23:05] taus.solace: *looks over at Lery*
[23:08] Misfit: Lery "he means... err... he wishes to join us in bed, probably drunk"
[23:16] taus.solace: *blinks at that, shaking her head*
[23:23] Misfit: Lery "...um..." Ringo takes a long drag and walks off "Just say when"
[23:24] taus.solace: "*shakes her head again as he leaves, waiting until he is well out of earshot* "That went in a direction I did not expect."
[23:25] Misfit: Lery nods "It's Ringo"
[23:28] taus.solace: "That does not tell me much.. I did not speak with him very much when I had met him before."
[23:36] Misfit: Lery "He has a reputation in Juarez. He's also bedded almost every woman in the group at one point or other, he's drank and fought his way across the southwest for decades"
[23:51] taus.solace: "My people held to the idea of bearing children with the one chosen for them.. But now, I can do my own choosing. Whatever his reputation, past behaviors, they do not interest me.."
[23:53] Misfit: "Oh, I don't think he's planning on fathering any children on you"
[23:56] taus.solace: "I am afraid I do not quite understand. Why would he mention it if that was not his intention?"
[23:57] Misfit: Lery "Did what i dod to you have any chance of children?"
[23:59] taus.solace: *she blushes, then smiles at the recollection* "No, I can safely say not."
[00:00] Misfit: "Yet you enjoyed it"
[00:01] taus.solace: *nods* "Yes, I did.."
[00:02] Misfit: "And we didn't do nearly as much as we could, more with Ringo"
[00:08] taus.solace: *she shakes her head slightly, slipping her arm around his waist* "In that area, I will remain content to allow you to continue to.. how did he put it? ..'to continue my education' ..I have come to enjoy your company, moreso when my head is not so clouded with doubts."
[00:11] Misfit: "Then let's go see to it" He pulls her tight
[00:13] taus.solace: *wraps both arms around him now, in a firm but not bone-crushing hug*
[00:15] Misfit: And her education continues
