[21:49] Ed3EvilGM: yes, in fact I would have sent her back before walking back (since she expressed discomfort at hiking, and there is no actual need for her to walk the distance....)

[21:50] Misfit: Devra sits "So... Roxy seems to be taking a shine to you"
[21:52] Ed3EvilGM: "I suspect she enjoys her new abilities a great deal and is simply appreciative."
[21:53] Misfit: "She does seem to enjoy the boons you've given her, but she is young yet"
[21:58] Ed3EvilGM: "I'm not sure she is."
[21:59] Ed3EvilGM: "Based on comments she has made i think it is more a matter of her being young again."
[22:01] Misfit: "Perhaps young to my eyes" she shrugs "But what were the terms of her service again?"
[22:03] Ed3EvilGM: "She comes when I call and obeys my commands, the powers she recieved were something I granted Bashir later, and were not part of the original contract, but were the result of a later agreement I had with Bashir."
[22:04] Misfit: "And what exactly were the stakes of the deal for him, now for her? Wat did she give and recieve?"
[22:29] Ed3EvilGM: "Nothing, the original contract was with Bashir's father... I can't recall his name, he was a young warrior and sorcerer of slight ability who somehow accquired my true name and was able to summon me by it. He wanted to have spectacular good fortune in life, in return he offered me his offspring to be mine for eternity. As contracts go, it's pretty straightforward agreement."
[22:30] Misfit: "And does this possession extend to her soul?"
[22:34] Ed3EvilGM: "In theory, though if I wanted Bashir's soul, or those of his other descendants I would have to seek out whatever god has his soul and offer proof of ownership. As I do not, and never have had proper facilities for the containment and care of souls, that point is probably moot. I wouldn't know what to do with a soul if I found one any more than you would."
[22:37] Misfit: "No, but that does place her soul in danger. While she did not agree to the pact to begin with, she now agrees with enthusiasm. That's hazardous to one's soul"
[22:41] Ed3EvilGM: "the condition of her soul is only an issue if I let her die. She is the daughter of my oldest and dearest friend and I have no intention of letting her die. If she does die then I will persue the matter of souls with ernest and see that she is well cared for in a realm as suitable as I can arrange."
[22:44] Misfit: "While all that's well and good, you're still a fair ways off from a strong bargaining position with any evil beings capable of claiming her. I'm quite fond of you, but due to what you are, that yound lady faces an unpleasant afterlife"
[22:49] Ed3EvilGM: "Not especially. If her only crime is chearfully fullfilling duties that have been forced on her, then I cannot see her any god punishing her for that. However, If you would like, I will see if I can broker an agreement on her behalf."
[22:51] Misfit: "You've not been to the wron churches then. But please, see to her soul. It's more or less in your care"
[22:51] Misfit: She smiles "And she seems willing to obey you"
[22:53] Ed3EvilGM: "She has gained a great deal and I have asked little and shown an interest in her welfare."
[22:54] Misfit: "She's not asked much of who and what you are"
[23:14] Ed3EvilGM: "yes, I need to have a long conversation with her about a great many things, unfortunately we have not had an overabundance of free time and privacy since I met her."
[23:15] Misfit: "We have a hut under a Millenium Tree"
[23:22] Ed3EvilGM: "Yes we do, but she isn't the only one I needed time and privacy to talk with." *Smiles*
[23:23] Misfit: "I suppose I should be flattered your ex-girlfriend is more important than your new, pretty minion" she grins
[23:46] Ed3EvilGM: *Grins impishly clearly teasing* "I can't unsummon you my dear."
[23:47] Misfit: "No, you're stuck with me yet. So, what did you want to talk about?"
[23:48] Ed3EvilGM: "Nothing, I knew that my having a mortal servant would cause you to have moral reservations, and that you would wish to discuss them."
[23:52] Misfit: "And you were right. I don't want to make her choices for her, but I do want to know you won't let her slip off to hell"
[00:25] Ed3EvilGM: "Not unless she wants to, some hells are very pleasant."
[00:27] Misfit: "As I understand it, even those hells tend to be unpleasant for the formerly mortal"
[00:31] Ed3EvilGM: "Not if she is traveling with a demon."
[00:35] Misfit: She laughs "Just have a care with her soul, as you did with my heart, and I will be happy"
[00:43] Ed3EvilGM: "I'm not sure I can properly express this in human terms, so I will instead give you another look at my nature that might disturb you and I will simply say this; Roxy is mine, no one hurts what is mine if I can prevent it. No one ever hurts what's mine and walks away unscathed." *Pauses and smiles at her* "You may be my ex, but you are MY ex, while you are with me nothing will be permitted to harm you. when you go away..." *Frowns and shrugs* "the unholy and their minions had best be gentle with you."
[00:45] Misfit: "I doubt they will be, but I won't be gentle with them either. I trust you shan't get jealous should I take another lover once I return to Wormwood"
[00:47] Ed3EvilGM: "Have I tried to stand between you and the angel?" *Smiles* "I'd tear her guts out if she broke your heart, but I would never stop you from seeing her, or anyone else."
[00:48] Misfit: "Dear, I've not touched the angel but once. Perhaps she thinks I am a poor lover"
[00:50] Ed3EvilGM: "Her loss, I suspected that she might have no taste."
[00:52] Misfit: Devra laughs "Well, she was rather taken with Machon, and did not take his passing well"
[00:56] Ed3EvilGM: "I too regret his passing, if he had lived I could have offered to assassinate him in exchange for Ringo teaching Roxy new spells. Now I shall have to rely on our friendship and ready coin."
[00:56] Misfit: She laughs "Aliza was convinced Machon was on our side, which may be more than I will say for Ringo"
[00:58] Ed3EvilGM: "Ringo is my friend, and he clearly felt injured by Machon's mere presence. It was only his luck and your conscience that prevented him from dying on general principle."
[01:13] Misfit: Devra shrugs "Ringo is what he is, though I suppose your soft spot for him makes more sense than Anna's"
[01:18] Ed3EvilGM: "Anna I think, in a more civilized time, anna would have been the sort of person who rescued stray cats or ran a soup kitchen for the homeless. Her conscience dictates that she help those that life washes up on her doorstep."
[01:24] Misfit: "That stray got her drunk and seduced her while she was vulnerable"
[01:33] Ed3EvilGM: *Frowns, considering that and after a bit asks* "what sort of people are Jeff and the familiar when they are home?"
[01:34] Misfit: "How do you mean?"
[01:36] Ed3EvilGM: "what are your impressions of them? I'm afraid I havn't paid them much mind, and i'm thinking perhaps I should have."
[01:39] Misfit: "Very quiet. Perce sticks to Anna's lab and occasional forays into the kitchen...." *Devra smiles "She certainly can cook. Jeff helps Wels train the Guard and whoever else wants to learn. They're both dedicated to helping Anna's orphanage make Juarez better"
[02:11] Ed3EvilGM: *Nods* "I'll have to keep a better eye on them, it's a pitty she regenerates..." *frowns* "Casual acceptance and forgiveness of something like what Ringo did is a sign of someone who was abused. They tend to take lovers and spouses who are abusive."
[21:38] Misfit: "I don't think Jeff or Perce are abusive. Perce's too... she does what Anna wants. Jeff was a knight, once"
[21:40] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "Perhaps then anna is simply enlightened enough to take responsibility for her own actions, even ones commited while impaired."
[21:48] Ed3EvilGM: "How did Jeff handle it? Do you know?"
[21:48] Misfit: "I'm not sure. I don't think they fought or anything. He was reunited with Percephone though"
[21:52] Ed3EvilGM: *Nods thoughtfully and shrugs* "As long as everyone is happy and safe, I suppose it's none of my business beyond finding out that they are."
[21:54] Misfit: "I believe those three are. I understand it took them some time though. Anna had to get used to sharing" she shrugs "At least she got a better dose of sharing than her father's wife"
[21:58] Ed3EvilGM: "True. So, shall we see if we can make you happy by finding out about my new minion?"
[21:58] Misfit: "You want me to help?"
[22:00] Ed3EvilGM: "You are concerned about her future and her soul, it would be silly of me to exclude you from the conversation and then have to repeat what I remember for you later when you can hear it all first hand."
[22:03] Misfit: "You sure she won't get jealous"
[22:03] Ed3EvilGM: "Not a clue, however if she is likely to, better to learn that sooner than later."
[22:04] Misfit: "True. I'd rather get the cat fight over sooner"
[22:09] Ed3EvilGM: "I doubt there will be a cat fight. Even if she has designs on being more to me than a servant and friend, she will shortly learn that you and I will be forced to part when you leave for wormwood. Though even if you decided to stay, she is my servant, while you are my ex, and that only by your choice."
[22:11] Misfit: she smiles "I know. Besides, I think she may have to beat LG away"
[22:15] Ed3EvilGM: "LG is with Ringo, and the angel, and while it would amuse me to steal her from Aliza, I do not stick my nose, or other protruding body parts into a friend's relationship without invitation, not even casual ones."
[22:16] Misfit: "No, but did you see LG looking her over?"
[22:19] Ed3EvilGM: "Ah, yes, I will have to warn her to adopt a similar policy regarding her protruding appendages."
[22:20] Misfit: "Well, Roxy isn't exactly in a relationship with any of us"
[22:26] Ed3EvilGM: "No, but LG is, in fact she's in a relationship with somone i hope to get to teach her spells without him taking advantage of her. Having her sleep with his casual lover will probably kill all efforts on my part to prevent that."
[22:31] Misfit: "You want Ringo to teach Roxy spells?"
[22:34] Ed3EvilGM: "Can you think of someone else likely to do it for cheap? if it comes to it I can always play cards with him and have him teach her to clear his debt."
[22:34] Misfit: "Anna?"
[22:35] Ed3EvilGM: *Smiles* "I may have to look into that, Altruism is rarely something I can list among available resources."
[22:37] Misfit: She laughs "Well, if you have friends who can...."
[22:41] Ed3EvilGM: "Quite true. And it is possible that Roxy will have a few spells anna does not. She has some unusual spells." *Smiles* "and honestly I'm unused to the idea that someone would knowingly assist a demon in accquiring power, just from the goodness of her heart, and because the demon is an ally."
[22:42] Misfit: "That's Anna. I wouldn't recommend going all demony and trying to destroy the world, rule it, or corrupt souls. I helped her bury another demon who was"
[22:47] Ed3EvilGM: "If I were planning on destroying the world i'd never have convinced everyone to take this trip to africa. As for ruling the world, thats just too much work, even if I was completely uncaring and misrulled it badly and abused all the people, it would still be too much work. I rean a small gang for a while once, never again if I have any say in things.:
[22:48] Misfit: She laughs "The only good demon is a lazy one?"
[22:49] Ed3EvilGM: "I'm a demon of bad luck, the world practically does my job for me all on it's own."
[22:50] Misfit: "Sometimes that's an easy impression to get"
[22:51] Ed3EvilGM: "Besides it is not like I need a job, I am a demon of bad luck because it's my nature and I enjoy it."
[22:54] Misfit: "Fair enough. Still, she's a daughter of Zeus. It can't hurt to stay on her good side"
[22:56] Ed3EvilGM: "True, though they have a god of pranksters and mischiefmakers so she may be sympathetic to my cause."
[23:01] Misfit: "Sympathetic enough to cross Zeus if you anger his daughter?"
[23:13] Ed3EvilGM: "My dear, I have long since learned not to anger gods unnecesarily. If I needed a reimider I have just learned that a good friend died as a result of my recklessness, he may have died of old age, but he wasn't supposed to age. I have no intention of annoying either zues or his daughter, I was merely expressing the thought that what I do, and have done, might not seem so evil to someone from a group of gods where the god of mischief and thieves is one of the good guys."
[23:14] Misfit: She nods "Just making sure"
[23:19] Ed3EvilGM: "I have found a great deal of wisdom in my time with humans."
[20:10] Misfit: Devra smiles "So I have heard"
[20:11] Ed3EvilGM: "So, shall I summon her?"
[20:11] Misfit: "If you like"
[20:12] Ed3EvilGM: *does so.*
[20:16] Misfit: She appears with a wet foot and regaining her balance. Devra hides a smile "You have a knack for giving her notable entrances"
[20:20] Ed3EvilGM: "would you like a moment to prepare?"
[20:21] Misfit: She shrugs "A bathrobe and I'm fine"
[20:24] Ed3EvilGM: *Hands her my jacket* "I'm afraid this is the best i can mannage at the moment."
[20:24] Misfit: She shrugs and puts it on "What did you need, boss?"
[20:32] Ed3EvilGM: "We need to have a talk about who you are, who I am, and what your situation is. Sadly this has been the first opportunity for that. I would rather have had these matters settled before we got off to dealing with trouble. It may be a long chat, are you certain you wouldn't like to dress?"
[21:05] Ed3EvilGM: "So, tell me about yourself, who you are, what you do, what you hoped to do before I plucked you out of your ordinary life."
[21:08] Misfit: Roxy "I was a dancer, then I got hurt and my knee and hip weren't up to Broadway or Vegas. So I went to school and got my degree in archaeology and worked with museums on their collections"
[21:12] Ed3EvilGM: *Nods thoughtfully* "will you continue with the museums or will you try to get back into dancing now that you are healed?"
[21:13] Misfit: "I'm not sure. Being called at random makes it hard to have either for a career. Also, my eyes aren't normal anymore"
[21:15] Ed3EvilGM: "True, we will need to work out the time differences and then if they are manageable I will hopefully be able to be more considerate in that regard."
[21:19] Misfit: She nods "Right. Then, I may invest in some contacts to make my eyes normal and get back on Broadway"
[21:28] Ed3EvilGM: "When you do, I recommend you retire after a decade, 15 years at most and go back to museum work for 20 years or so, then switch back after creating a new, false identity. I found that when I didn't need to run for my life, reappearing and claiming to be my son worked well for the government side of things, but one always needs to move to a new area to avoid people who know you, though in large cities like new york that is less of an issue. I will see what I can do to find a way for you to become independantly wealthy, which of course makes things simpler."
[21:30] Misfit: She nods "I can do that"
[21:34] Ed3EvilGM: "If you don't people will start to notice you don't age, and that could become awkward."
[21:35] Misfit: "Right. That would be bad"
[21:38] Ed3EvilGM: "On the other hand, if we can find a scheme to make you rich, you can maintain your present identity and be a wealthy recluse who's affairs are managed by her young daughter or grand daughter... and that scheme you can keep up until you are in your nineties. fake your death, inherit as great granddaughter and start over."
[21:39] Misfit: "Interesting. That could work"
[21:40] Ed3EvilGM: "Now, here is the really fun question. What year is it in your world?"
[21:40] Misfit: She frowns "2002"
[21:43] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "Pitty you don't have a job in technology; you could make a killing with some of the toys we have. We are almost 400 years ahead of you."
[21:44] Misfit: She blinks "In technology or by calendar?"
[21:48] Ed3EvilGM: "By callender, we are less than a century by technology, in some places much less, but in a few rare gems quite a bit more."
[21:49] Misfit: She nods
[21:50] Ed3EvilGM: *shrugs* "we can look into that later."
[22:05] Ed3EvilGM: "Now for the really fun part, I don't believe I have gotten around to telling you precisely what I am, have I?"
[22:07] Misfit: She shakes her head "Nope"
[22:20] Ed3EvilGM: He nods "Are you familiar with the story of faust?"
[22:22] Misfit: "I am. You're saying you're the Devil?"
[22:24] Ed3EvilGM: "Not that devil, but I am a demon lord, or more accurately, I used to be, and am working to regain my lost power."
[22:25] Misfit: "So I'm working for a demon who got cast out of hell?"
[22:29] Ed3EvilGM: "No, I was always quite popular in the varrious hells. I ran afowl of the egyptian god Thoth. that is a cautionary tale about not poking sleeping bears with with sharp sticks, and i'll leave it for another time, the short version is that I provoked him and barely survived the encounter. I have been enormously weakened for the past 400 years or so, and am just recently begining to recover my former abilities."
[22:30] Misfit: "And wht will you do when you get your power back"
[22:38] Ed3EvilGM: "Much like yourself, my long term goals are somewhat hazy. I have learned better manners in my time among humans, so it is unlikely that I will return to harrassing powerful supernatural creatures, certainly not gods. Nor do I seek revenge on thoth, I freely admit that I earned what he did. So, for now my goal is to recover my power and acquire a comfortable standard of living, and hopefully some further goal will occur to me as I go. Devra has suggested I aid in freeing her world, and I have to admit, once my power returns it will amuse me to do that. though less for the good of her people than for the entertainment value of crushing another demon."
[22:40] Misfit: "Does this mean my soul belongs to you or something?"
[22:50] Ed3EvilGM: "In theory, Going back to the subject of faust, you will note how grossly unfair it is that you were never offered the contract or allowed to negotiate it's terms. And that is because you are sadly not the beneficiary of the contract, but rather you are part of the payment for services rendered. One of your ancestors, the father of Bashir, was a warlord who craved success, he stumbled upon the meens to summon me, and worked out a deal for spectacular good fortune throughout his carreer. The payment offered was his offspring, which includes his descendants, which of course includes you. I upheld my end of our bargain, and recieved Bashir when he was old enough to be interesting, and we became friends. His father went on to glory and honor and to have an immortal name, which like most has been utterly lost to history, and the world dosn't even remember the nation he served. Bashir and I wandered the worlds for centuries after getting into and out of trouble, and the rest is history as they say."
[22:52] Misfit: "So now I get to wander the world with you, sometimes?"
[22:53] Ed3EvilGM: "Worlds eventually, but more or less. how much time you spend here will be partly up to you."
[22:55] Misfit: "Well, that depends on my... master? Owner? Bankroll?"
[23:09] Ed3EvilGM: *Laughs* "I'd like to be friends, but the correct description of our relationship would be master and slave. I try not to be unreasonable though, and I was able to become good friends with Bashir, so I see no reason why that would be impossible with you."
[23:10] Misfit: "Let me get back to you on that"
[23:11] Ed3EvilGM: *looks amused* "about how unreasonable I am or about whether we can be friends?"
[23:12] Misfit: "about whether or not I'm your slave. I'm not into that kinky stuff"
[23:16] Ed3EvilGM: *blinks then laughs* "Not that kind of slave. I have no interest in the bondage games you are thinking of, and I will not compel you to have a sexual relationship with me, or with anyone else. What I mean when I say master and slave is that do in a very real sense own you, and I will give you commands that you are compelled to obey by the link we have."
[23:19] Misfit: She nods "We'll see how my life goes, it's not like you plucked me from the end of the world"
[23:25] Ed3EvilGM: *Nods* "I will be making efforts to increase your power though a better education in magic, as well as through other means which will certainly make your life easier."
[23:27] Misfit: "Oh, good. I'm finding some of my magic handy already. And nobody else can do it where I'm from"
[23:28] Ed3EvilGM: "I would not bet on that, keep an eye out just in case."
[23:28] Misfit: "Will do, boss"
[23:29] Misfit: She looks you over "You're not going to demand I bring you virgins to sacrifice or burn down the Pope are you?"
[23:29] Ed3EvilGM: "If you find other magic users you may be able to trade spells with them, or sell them magical objects from here."
[23:34] Ed3EvilGM: "I have no great love for virgins, they hend to be too nervous to make great lovers, and even when they are past that stage they require a fair amount of teaching. Besides I prefer to find my own partners." *Pauses and smiles* "As amusing as setting the pope on fire would be, it would be too risky to be worth it, plus he spends too much time around priceless art objects which I would rather not burn down. Besides, I wouldn't be able to watch and simply hearing that the pope caught fire is not nearly so entertaining as having a front row seat."
[21:00] Ed3EvilGM: "So, we've covered the basics I think, do you have any questions so far?"
[21:03] Misfit: "What's with the blonde Spock? She leers at me more than the cowboy"
[21:05] Ed3EvilGM: "Blonde spock?" Frowns for a moment "Ah, pointed ears, she is complicated. The short version is that she is a young dragon, and like most young creatures she is exploring the world and trying everything she can eagerly, she has recently discovered sex."
[21:06] Misfit: "It's kind of... I don't do the casting couch"
[21:20] Ed3EvilGM: "I was actually going to suggest you avoid involvement with her for the time being, she is strictly speaking a child, despite her vast power."
[21:21] Misfit: She nods "I'll pass on her, the cowboy, and his strange stripper"
[21:25] Ed3EvilGM: *Chuckles* "by the cowboy, I suspect you mean Ringo, and that would be a wise choice as well, while I count him a friend, he is not the sort I'd trust were I a woman. Aliza is of similar bent, and she is a divine messenger of a sort, that does not precisely make her the enemy, but angels and demons have a reputation near each other similar to cats and dogs. There are cats an dogs who are friends, but it's not the expected norm."
[21:26] Misfit: "so she really is chosen of Asherah?"
[21:42] Ed3EvilGM: "That is the story I've heard, the lion with her confirms it, he is also a divine messenger."
[21:42] Misfit: "Of course. The goddess was associated with lions"
[21:46] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "Do you have someone at home you are involved with?"
[21:47] Misfit: "Nope, but I'm no call girl, just because I can dance"
[21:58] Ed3EvilGM: "I was not suggesting you were anything of the sort. I am simply gathering information. I am glad that you don'

[22:09] Misfit: "Well, I haven't had much chance to look since you found me, but since my last man liked the strip club better than me..."

[22:27] Ed3EvilGM: "It is, I have spent a long time since debating wether or not it was worth it."
[22:28] Misfit: Roxy looks to Devra "Is she?"
[22:33] Ed3EvilGM: "She must be, because after three hundred years of regret I've chosen to open myself up to that sort of pain all over again. And I've always been good at weighing risks against benefits."
[22:35] Misfit: Roxy nods "I see"
[22:38] Ed3EvilGM: *Smiles* "Unfortunately Devra is a champion of good while I am a demon striving to be an arch-deomon, and we both know there is no future in it."
[22:38] Misfit: "And that's why you're her ex and you two share a room?"
[22:40] Ed3EvilGM: "We are making the most of the time we have, while we share this quest in common, and then we shall go our sepperate ways, each hopefully better for having had this chance."
[22:56] Misfit: "Oh, so you're friends with benefits now"
[23:02] Ed3EvilGM: "I suppose, but as break ups go, this is a nice one. no screaming and throwing things, and no hating eachother for being what we are."
[23:02] Misfit: Roxy nods "How... amicable..."
[23:03] Ed3EvilGM: does she sound dissapoving?

[23:08] Ed3EvilGM: "you seem to be restraining a comment. If we are going to be friends you will need to speak your mind." (carefully worded so as not to be a command, yet still convey my prefference.)
[23:09] Misfit: "Just seems... wierd. Not too many breakups end so friendly"
[23:11] Ed3EvilGM: "It is highly unusual, I blame my complete naked honesty, and Devra's conviction that people can be forgiven, even for being what they are."
[23:12] Misfit: Devra laughs "I also blame his lack of doing demonic things, like encouraging me to slaughter people, rule all I survey, or otherwise behave like any demon I've met"
[23:17] Ed3EvilGM: "such behavior would have been bad for both of our health." *glances at Roxy* "for yours too, if you feel the urge to abuse your power be cautious and don't let anyone see you do so."
[23:25] Misfit: Roxy nods "Nah, I don't want to be on the wrong end of a witch hunt"
[23:27] Ed3EvilGM: "an excellent attitude."
[23:30] Misfit: "Thanks.... Is there anything else you need to tell me, boss?"
[23:31] Ed3EvilGM: "what is your living situation like?"
[23:31] Misfit: "I have my apartment, rent's paid up. I usualy walk or take the subway. It's easier than trying to drive"
[23:34] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "How are you set for storage?"
[23:34] Misfit: "Nothing bit, but I can handle storing books and things. No room for a car though"
[23:43] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "I'll have to make getting you enough money for a larger place a priority. If you can think of a way to make money off either your new abilities or something here, feel free to offer suggestions."
[23:44] Misfit: "I'll work on it boss"
[00:01] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "why don't you create a dressing screen so that I may have my jacket back without you having to comprimise your modesty."
[00:02] Misfit: "Yes, boss" She does so and tosses your jacket over the side so it hangs

[00:27] Misfit: "Curious, but not quite interested. Besides, wouldn't she needlessly complicate us?"
[00:33] Ed3EvilGM: "Complicate? certainly. But as to it being needless, most fun things are needless. I will neither encourage nor forbid it, as it is a delicate path to be involved with a servant yet not take advantage of them. If you want her, persue her, if you don't then don't. if you both want me to assist in that endeavor, I can assure you that I will not resist the notion of you with nearly any woman you choose."

[21:49] Ed3EvilGM: yes, in fact I would have sent her back before walking back (since she expressed discomfort at hiking, and there is no actual need for her to walk the distance....)

[21:50] Misfit: Devra sits "So... Roxy seems to be taking a shine to you"
[21:52] Ed3EvilGM: "I suspect she enjoys her new abilities a great deal and is simply appreciative."
[21:53] Misfit: "She does seem to enjoy the boons you've given her, but she is young yet"
[21:58] Ed3EvilGM: "I'm not sure she is."
[21:59] Ed3EvilGM: "Based on comments she has made i think it is more a matter of her being young again."
[22:01] Misfit: "Perhaps young to my eyes" she shrugs "But what were the terms of her service again?"
[22:03] Ed3EvilGM: "She comes when I call and obeys my commands, the powers she recieved were something I granted Bashir later, and were not part of the original contract, but were the result of a later agreement I had with Bashir."
[22:04] Misfit: "And what exactly were the stakes of the deal for him, now for her? Wat did she give and recieve?"
[22:29] Ed3EvilGM: "Nothing, the original contract was with Bashir's father... I can't recall his name, he was a young warrior and sorcerer of slight ability who somehow accquired my true name and was able to summon me by it. He wanted to have spectacular good fortune in life, in return he offered me his offspring to be mine for eternity. As contracts go, it's pretty straightforward agreement."
[22:30] Misfit: "And does this possession extend to her soul?"
[22:34] Ed3EvilGM: "In theory, though if I wanted Bashir's soul, or those of his other descendants I would have to seek out whatever god has his soul and offer proof of ownership. As I do not, and never have had proper facilities for the containment and care of souls, that point is probably moot. I wouldn't know what to do with a soul if I found one any more than you would."
[22:37] Misfit: "No, but that does place her soul in danger. While she did not agree to the pact to begin with, she now agrees with enthusiasm. That's hazardous to one's soul"
[22:41] Ed3EvilGM: "the condition of her soul is only an issue if I let her die. She is the daughter of my oldest and dearest friend and I have no intention of letting her die. If she does die then I will persue the matter of souls with ernest and see that she is well cared for in a realm as suitable as I can arrange."
[22:44] Misfit: "While all that's well and good, you're still a fair ways off from a strong bargaining position with any evil beings capable of claiming her. I'm quite fond of you, but due to what you are, that yound lady faces an unpleasant afterlife"
[22:49] Ed3EvilGM: "Not especially. If her only crime is chearfully fullfilling duties that have been forced on her, then I cannot see her any god punishing her for that. However, If you would like, I will see if I can broker an agreement on her behalf."
[22:51] Misfit: "You've not been to the wron churches then. But please, see to her soul. It's more or less in your care"
[22:51] Misfit: She smiles "And she seems willing to obey you"
[22:53] Ed3EvilGM: "She has gained a great deal and I have asked little and shown an interest in her welfare."
[22:54] Misfit: "She's not asked much of who and what you are"
[23:14] Ed3EvilGM: "yes, I need to have a long conversation with her about a great many things, unfortunately we have not had an overabundance of free time and privacy since I met her."
[23:15] Misfit: "We have a hut under a Millenium Tree"
[23:22] Ed3EvilGM: "Yes we do, but she isn't the only one I needed time and privacy to talk with." *Smiles*
[23:23] Misfit: "I suppose I should be flattered your ex-girlfriend is more important than your new, pretty minion" she grins
[23:46] Ed3EvilGM: *Grins impishly clearly teasing* "I can't unsummon you my dear."
[23:47] Misfit: "No, you're stuck with me yet. So, what did you want to talk about?"
[23:48] Ed3EvilGM: "Nothing, I knew that my having a mortal servant would cause you to have moral reservations, and that you would wish to discuss them."
[23:52] Misfit: "And you were right. I don't want to make her choices for her, but I do want to know you won't let her slip off to hell"
[00:25] Ed3EvilGM: "Not unless she wants to, some hells are very pleasant."
[00:27] Misfit: "As I understand it, even those hells tend to be unpleasant for the formerly mortal"
[00:31] Ed3EvilGM: "Not if she is traveling with a demon."
[00:35] Misfit: She laughs "Just have a care with her soul, as you did with my heart, and I will be happy"
[00:43] Ed3EvilGM: "I'm not sure I can properly express this in human terms, so I will instead give you another look at my nature that might disturb you and I will simply say this; Roxy is mine, no one hurts what is mine if I can prevent it. No one ever hurts what's mine and walks away unscathed." *Pauses and smiles at her* "You may be my ex, but you are MY ex, while you are with me nothing will be permitted to harm you. when you go away..." *Frowns and shrugs* "the unholy and their minions had best be gentle with you."
[00:45] Misfit: "I doubt they will be, but I won't be gentle with them either. I trust you shan't get jealous should I take another lover once I return to Wormwood"
[00:47] Ed3EvilGM: "Have I tried to stand between you and the angel?" *Smiles* "I'd tear her guts out if she broke your heart, but I would never stop you from seeing her, or anyone else."
[00:48] Misfit: "Dear, I've not touched the angel but once. Perhaps she thinks I am a poor lover"
[00:50] Ed3EvilGM: "Her loss, I suspected that she might have no taste."
[00:52] Misfit: Devra laughs "Well, she was rather taken with Machon, and did not take his passing well"
[00:56] Ed3EvilGM: "I too regret his passing, if he had lived I could have offered to assassinate him in exchange for Ringo teaching Roxy new spells. Now I shall have to rely on our friendship and ready coin."
[00:56] Misfit: She laughs "Aliza was convinced Machon was on our side, which may be more than I will say for Ringo"
[00:58] Ed3EvilGM: "Ringo is my friend, and he clearly felt injured by Machon's mere presence. It was only his luck and your conscience that prevented him from dying on general principle."
[01:13] Misfit: Devra shrugs "Ringo is what he is, though I suppose your soft spot for him makes more sense than Anna's"
[01:18] Ed3EvilGM: "Anna I think, in a more civilized time, anna would have been the sort of person who rescued stray cats or ran a soup kitchen for the homeless. Her conscience dictates that she help those that life washes up on her doorstep."
[01:24] Misfit: "That stray got her drunk and seduced her while she was vulnerable"
[01:33] Ed3EvilGM: *Frowns, considering that and after a bit asks* "what sort of people are Jeff and the familiar when they are home?"
[01:34] Misfit: "How do you mean?"
[01:36] Ed3EvilGM: "what are your impressions of them? I'm afraid I havn't paid them much mind, and i'm thinking perhaps I should have."
[01:39] Misfit: "Very quiet. Perce sticks to Anna's lab and occasional forays into the kitchen...." *Devra smiles "She certainly can cook. Jeff helps Wels train the Guard and whoever else wants to learn. They're both dedicated to helping Anna's orphanage make Juarez better"
[02:11] Ed3EvilGM: *Nods* "I'll have to keep a better eye on them, it's a pitty she regenerates..." *frowns* "Casual acceptance and forgiveness of something like what Ringo did is a sign of someone who was abused. They tend to take lovers and spouses who are abusive."
[21:38] Misfit: "I don't think Jeff or Perce are abusive. Perce's too... she does what Anna wants. Jeff was a knight, once"
[21:40] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "Perhaps then anna is simply enlightened enough to take responsibility for her own actions, even ones commited while impaired."
[21:48] Ed3EvilGM: "How did Jeff handle it? Do you know?"
[21:48] Misfit: "I'm not sure. I don't think they fought or anything. He was reunited with Percephone though"
[21:52] Ed3EvilGM: *Nods thoughtfully and shrugs* "As long as everyone is happy and safe, I suppose it's none of my business beyond finding out that they are."
[21:54] Misfit: "I believe those three are. I understand it took them some time though. Anna had to get used to sharing" she shrugs "At least she got a better dose of sharing than her father's wife"
[21:58] Ed3EvilGM: "True. So, shall we see if we can make you happy by finding out about my new minion?"
[21:58] Misfit: "You want me to help?"
[22:00] Ed3EvilGM: "You are concerned about her future and her soul, it would be silly of me to exclude you from the conversation and then have to repeat what I remember for you later when you can hear it all first hand."
[22:03] Misfit: "You sure she won't get jealous"
[22:03] Ed3EvilGM: "Not a clue, however if she is likely to, better to learn that sooner than later."
[22:04] Misfit: "True. I'd rather get the cat fight over sooner"
[22:09] Ed3EvilGM: "I doubt there will be a cat fight. Even if she has designs on being more to me than a servant and friend, she will shortly learn that you and I will be forced to part when you leave for wormwood. Though even if you decided to stay, she is my servant, while you are my ex, and that only by your choice."
[22:11] Misfit: she smiles "I know. Besides, I think she may have to beat LG away"
[22:15] Ed3EvilGM: "LG is with Ringo, and the angel, and while it would amuse me to steal her from Aliza, I do not stick my nose, or other protruding body parts into a friend's relationship without invitation, not even casual ones."
[22:16] Misfit: "No, but did you see LG looking her over?"
[22:19] Ed3EvilGM: "Ah, yes, I will have to warn her to adopt a similar policy regarding her protruding appendages."
[22:20] Misfit: "Well, Roxy isn't exactly in a relationship with any of us"
[22:26] Ed3EvilGM: "No, but LG is, in fact she's in a relationship with somone i hope to get to teach her spells without him taking advantage of her. Having her sleep with his casual lover will probably kill all efforts on my part to prevent that."
[22:31] Misfit: "You want Ringo to teach Roxy spells?"
[22:34] Ed3EvilGM: "Can you think of someone else likely to do it for cheap? if it comes to it I can always play cards with him and have him teach her to clear his debt."
[22:34] Misfit: "Anna?"
[22:35] Ed3EvilGM: *Smiles* "I may have to look into that, Altruism is rarely something I can list among available resources."
[22:37] Misfit: She laughs "Well, if you have friends who can...."
[22:41] Ed3EvilGM: "Quite true. And it is possible that Roxy will have a few spells anna does not. She has some unusual spells." *Smiles* "and honestly I'm unused to the idea that someone would knowingly assist a demon in accquiring power, just from the goodness of her heart, and because the demon is an ally."
[22:42] Misfit: "That's Anna. I wouldn't recommend going all demony and trying to destroy the world, rule it, or corrupt souls. I helped her bury another demon who was"
[22:47] Ed3EvilGM: "If I were planning on destroying the world i'd never have convinced everyone to take this trip to africa. As for ruling the world, thats just too much work, even if I was completely uncaring and misrulled it badly and abused all the people, it would still be too much work. I rean a small gang for a while once, never again if I have any say in things.:
[22:48] Misfit: She laughs "The only good demon is a lazy one?"
[22:49] Ed3EvilGM: "I'm a demon of bad luck, the world practically does my job for me all on it's own."
[22:50] Misfit: "Sometimes that's an easy impression to get"
[22:51] Ed3EvilGM: "Besides it is not like I need a job, I am a demon of bad luck because it's my nature and I enjoy it."
[22:54] Misfit: "Fair enough. Still, she's a daughter of Zeus. It can't hurt to stay on her good side"
[22:56] Ed3EvilGM: "True, though they have a god of pranksters and mischiefmakers so she may be sympathetic to my cause."
[23:01] Misfit: "Sympathetic enough to cross Zeus if you anger his daughter?"
[23:13] Ed3EvilGM: "My dear, I have long since learned not to anger gods unnecesarily. If I needed a reimider I have just learned that a good friend died as a result of my recklessness, he may have died of old age, but he wasn't supposed to age. I have no intention of annoying either zues or his daughter, I was merely expressing the thought that what I do, and have done, might not seem so evil to someone from a group of gods where the god of mischief and thieves is one of the good guys."
[23:14] Misfit: She nods "Just making sure"
[23:19] Ed3EvilGM: "I have found a great deal of wisdom in my time with humans."
[20:10] Misfit: Devra smiles "So I have heard"
[20:11] Ed3EvilGM: "So, shall I summon her?"

[20:16] Misfit: She appears with a wet foot and regaining her balance. Devra hides a smile "You have a knack for giving her notable entrances"

[20:21] Misfit: She shrugs "A bathrobe and I'm fine"
[20:24] Ed3EvilGM: *Hands her my jacket* "I'm afraid this is the best i can mannage at the moment."
[20:24] Misfit: She shrugs and puts it on "What did you need, boss?"
[20:32] Ed3EvilGM: "We need to have a talk about who you are, who I am, and what your situation is. Sadly this has been the first opportunity for that. I would rather have had these matters settled before we got off to dealing with trouble. It may be a long chat, are you certain you wouldn't like to dress?"
[21:05] Ed3EvilGM: "So, tell me about yourself, who you are, what you do, what you hoped to do before I plucked you out of your ordinary life."
[21:08] Misfit: Roxy "I was a dancer, then I got hurt and my knee and hip weren't up to Broadway or Vegas. So I went to school and got my degree in archaeology and worked with museums on their collections"
[21:12] Ed3EvilGM: *Nods thoughtfully* "will you continue with the museums or will you try to get back into dancing now that you are healed?"
[21:13] Misfit: "I'm not sure. Being called at random makes it hard to have either for a career. Also, my eyes aren't normal anymore"
[21:15] Ed3EvilGM: "True, we will need to work out the time differences and then if they are manageable I will hopefully be able to be more considerate in that regard."
[21:19] Misfit: She nods "Right. Then, I may invest in some contacts to make my eyes normal and get back on Broadway"
[21:28] Ed3EvilGM: "When you do, I recommend you retire after a decade, 15 years at most and go back to museum work for 20 years or so, then switch back after creating a new, false identity. I found that when I didn't need to run for my life, reappearing and claiming to be my son worked well for the government side of things, but one always needs to move to a new area to avoid people who know you, though in large cities like new york that is less of an issue. I will see what I can do to find a way for you to become independantly wealthy, which of course makes things simpler."
[21:30] Misfit: She nods "I can do that"
[21:34] Ed3EvilGM: "If you don't people will start to notice you don't age, and that could become awkward."
[21:35] Misfit: "Right. That would be bad"
[21:38] Ed3EvilGM: "On the other hand, if we can find a scheme to make you rich, you can maintain your present identity and be a wealthy recluse who's affairs are managed by her young daughter or grand daughter... and that scheme you can keep up until you are in your nineties. fake your death, inherit as great granddaughter and start over."
[21:39] Misfit: "Interesting. That could work"
[21:40] Ed3EvilGM: "Now, here is the really fun question. What year is it in your world?"
[21:40] Misfit: She frowns "2002"
[21:43] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "Pitty you don't have a job in technology; you could make a killing with some of the toys we have. We are almost 400 years ahead of you."
[21:44] Misfit: She blinks "In technology or by calendar?"
[21:48] Ed3EvilGM: "By callender, we are less than a century by technology, in some places much less, but in a few rare gems quite a bit more."
[21:49] Misfit: She nods
[21:50] Ed3EvilGM: *shrugs* "we can look into that later."
[22:05] Ed3EvilGM: "Now for the really fun part, I don't believe I have gotten around to telling you precisely what I am, have I?"
[22:07] Misfit: She shakes her head "Nope"
[22:20] Ed3EvilGM: He nods "Are you familiar with the story of faust?"
[22:22] Misfit: "I am. You're saying you're the Devil?"
[22:24] Ed3EvilGM: "Not that devil, but I am a demon lord, or more accurately, I used to be, and am working to regain my lost power."
[22:25] Misfit: "So I'm working for a demon who got cast out of hell?"
[22:29] Ed3EvilGM: "No, I was always quite popular in the varrious hells. I ran afowl of the egyptian god Thoth. that is a cautionary tale about not poking sleeping bears with with sharp sticks, and i'll leave it for another time, the short version is that I provoked him and barely survived the encounter. I have been enormously weakened for the past 400 years or so, and am just recently begining to recover my former abilities."
[22:30] Misfit: "And wht will you do when you get your power back"
[22:38] Ed3EvilGM: "Much like yourself, my long term goals are somewhat hazy. I have learned better manners in my time among humans, so it is unlikely that I will return to harrassing powerful supernatural creatures, certainly not gods. Nor do I seek revenge on thoth, I freely admit that I earned what he did. So, for now my goal is to recover my power and acquire a comfortable standard of living, and hopefully some further goal will occur to me as I go. Devra has suggested I aid in freeing her world, and I have to admit, once my power returns it will amuse me to do that. though less for the good of her people than for the entertainment value of crushing another demon."
[22:40] Misfit: "Does this mean my soul belongs to you or something?"
[22:50] Ed3EvilGM: "In theory, Going back to the subject of faust, you will note how grossly unfair it is that you were never offered the contract or allowed to negotiate it's terms. And that is because you are sadly not the beneficiary of the contract, but rather you are part of the payment for services rendered. One of your ancestors, the father of Bashir, was a warlord who craved success, he stumbled upon the meens to summon me, and worked out a deal for spectacular good fortune throughout his carreer. The payment offered was his offspring, which includes his descendants, which of course includes you. I upheld my end of our bargain, and recieved Bashir when he was old enough to be interesting, and we became friends. His father went on to glory and honor and to have an immortal name, which like most has been utterly lost to history, and the world dosn't even remember the nation he served. Bashir and I wandered the worlds for centuries after getting into and out of trouble, and the rest is history as they say."
[22:52] Misfit: "So now I get to wander the world with you, sometimes?"
[22:53] Ed3EvilGM: "Worlds eventually, but more or less. how much time you spend here will be partly up to you."
[22:55] Misfit: "Well, that depends on my... master? Owner? Bankroll?"
[23:09] Ed3EvilGM: *Laughs* "I'd like to be friends, but the correct description of our relationship would be master and slave. I try not to be unreasonable though, and I was able to become good friends with Bashir, so I see no reason why that would be impossible with you."

[23:11] Ed3EvilGM: *looks amused* "about how unreasonable I am or about whether we can be friends?"
[23:12] Misfit: "about whether or not I'm your slave. I'm not into that kinky stuff"
[23:16] Ed3EvilGM: *blinks then laughs* "Not that kind of slave. I have no interest in the bondage games you are thinking of, and I will not compel you to have a sexual relationship with me, or with anyone else. What I mean when I say master and slave is that do in a very real sense own you, and I will give you commands that you are compelled to obey by the link we have."

[23:29] Misfit: She looks you over "You're not going to demand I bring you virgins to sacrifice or burn down the Pope are you?"
[23:29] Ed3EvilGM: "If you find other magic users you may be able to trade spells with them, or sell them magical objects from here."
[23:34] Ed3EvilGM: "I have no great love for virgins, they hend to be too nervous to make great lovers, and even when they are past that stage they require a fair amount of teaching. Besides I prefer to find my own partners." *Pauses and smiles* "As amusing as setting the pope on fire would be, it would be too risky to be worth it, plus he spends too much time around priceless art objects which I would rather not burn down. Besides, I wouldn't be able to watch and simply hearing that the pope caught fire is not nearly so entertaining as having a front row seat."

[21:05] Ed3EvilGM: "Blonde spock?" Frowns for a moment "Ah, pointed ears, she is complicated. The short version is that she is a young dragon, and like most young creatures she is exploring the world and trying everything she can eagerly, she has recently discovered sex."

[21:25] Ed3EvilGM: *Chuckles* "by the cowboy, I suspect you mean Ringo, and that would be a wise choice as well, while I count him a friend, he is not the sort I'd trust were I a woman. Aliza is of similar bent, and she is a divine messenger of a sort, that does not precisely make her the enemy, but angels and demons have a reputation near each other similar to cats and dogs. There are cats an dogs who are friends, but it's not the expected norm."
[21:26] Misfit: "so she really is chosen of Asherah?"
[21:42] Ed3EvilGM: "That is the story I've heard, the lion with her confirms it, he is also a divine messenger."
[21:42] Misfit: "Of course. The goddess was associated with lions"

[22:38] Ed3EvilGM: *Smiles* "Unfortunately Devra is a champion of good while I am a demon striving to be an arch-deomon, and we both know there is no future in it."

[22:40] Ed3EvilGM: "We are making the most of the time we have, while we share this quest in common, and then we shall go our sepperate ways, each hopefully better for having had this chance."

[23:02] Ed3EvilGM: "I suppose, but as break ups go, this is a nice one. no screaming and throwing things, and no hating eachother for being what we are."

[23:31] Misfit: "I have my apartment, rent's paid up. I usualy walk or take the subway. It's easier than trying to drive"
[23:34] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "How are you set for storage?"
[23:34] Misfit: "Nothing bit, but I can handle storing books and things. No room for a car though"
[23:43] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "I'll have to make getting you enough money for a larger place a priority. If you can think of a way to make money off either your new abilities or something here, feel free to offer suggestions."
[23:44] Misfit: "I'll work on it boss"
[00:01] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "why don't you create a dressing screen so that I may have my jacket back without you having to comprimise your modesty."
[00:02] Misfit: "Yes, boss" She does so and tosses your jacket over the side so it hangs
[00:07] Ed3EvilGM: "Don't forget the watches and enjoy your night." *Unsummons her*
[00:07] Misfit: "Yes, boss" and she disappears
[00:23] Ed3EvilGM: *Looks at Devra* "Any thoughts?"
[00:24] Misfit: "You seem to have a handle on her. She is rather pretty, though"
[00:25] Ed3EvilGM: "Shall I tell her that you are interested if she is similarly inclined?" *looks amused*
[00:27] Misfit: "Curious, but not quite interested. Besides, wouldn't she needlessly complicate us?"
[00:33] Ed3EvilGM: "Complicate? certainly. But as to it being needless, most fun things are needless. I will neither encourage nor forbid it, as it is a delicate path to be involved with a servant yet not take advantage of them. If you want her, persue her, if you don't then don't. if you both want me to assist in that endeavor, I can assure you that I will not resist the notion of you with nearly any woman you choose."
