[20:24] Ed3EvilGM: *would have grabbed some jerkied meat during the raid to offer the carnivore/scavenger if I found any*
[20:29] Ed3EvilGM: "I have been meaning to talk to you about a few things if you don't mind. Some professional matters, some more a matter of feeding the elephant's child. Have you some free time to chat?"
[20:33] Misfit: He raises his head. "We have an elephant's child? I must have napped through that one"
[20:34] Ed3EvilGM: "A story by an earth author, the elephant's child is a symbol for curiosity."
[20:37] Misfit: "I see. Which curiosity is that, we have some number of those?"
[20:49] Ed3EvilGM: *grins* "Highly satiable curiosity."
[20:57] Misfit: "Well, it's certainly not my mistress. So, what did you wish to discuss"
[21:01] Ed3EvilGM: "I was curious as to the nature of your relationship with Aliza, at times you act like you are her servant and at times she acts like you are her minder, and I was curious as to which is the more accurate impression."
[21:07] Misfit: A rumble emerges from his throat. It takes a moment for you to realize he's laughing. "You might say I fulfill both roles, though she has proven quite the challenge to mind"
[21:28] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "But you must obey her in spite of this duty?"
[21:29] Misfit: "Not necessarily. I am given reign to use my judgment"
[21:31] Ed3EvilGM: "that’s a relief."
[21:32] Misfit: "What, exactly, troubles you about my mistress?"
[21:33] Ed3EvilGM: "She lacks judgment, restraint, manners, and good sense, but other than that nothing."
[21:35] Misfit: "In other words, she is still very human and prone to errors"
[21:38] Ed3EvilGM: "It is more the fact that she does not seem aware of her failings than the fact that she has them that really worries me. All are imperfect, but she is a bull in a china shop who is trying to set up displays of glassware. Until she has a better grasp on the world and her own nature she is likely to do a great deal of harm."
[21:40] Misfit: "You have a point, however, she was chosen for those very qualities. Our Lady by the Sea uses Aliza for a sword; she has chosen others for her priestesses. You also have done some to teach Aliza. It has not gone unnoticed"
[22:03] Ed3EvilGM: "I did not do it for divine favor, not that I would be so rude as to reject any that came my way." *grins* "that was part of what I wanted to talk to you about, one does not need to be so coarse as she is to be a warrior, and I was wondering if you had any thoughts on furthering her education."
[22:05] Misfit: "I am a lion. With outsiders, we settle disputes with roar and claw. Amongst ourselves, we are more... polite. She is no lion; she may do to continue learning to deal with others less... bluntly"
[22:13] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "but no advice on how to achieve that goal more swiftly?"
[22:16] Misfit: "You seemed to be handling her more than adequately"
[22:16] Misfit: "She is always amenable to sexual advances, however"
[22:20] Ed3EvilGM: "I suspect that she is, but I also suspect that doing so would hamper my ability to teach her properly." I tend to go easy on my lovers, and she does not need easy."
[22:21] Misfit: "Then you have that answer"
[22:28] Ed3EvilGM: *nods thoughtfully* "alright, so you are also her teacher in religion and mythology correct?"
[22:33] Misfit: "Some, but I am not a teacher at heart."
[22:34] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "Could I ask for information in that regard?"
[22:35] Misfit: "Which information is it you need?"
[22:37] Ed3EvilGM: "I was curious as to the state of the god's realm. I have been lead to believe there is one, as your goddess is to take Baal there when we find him, but what sort of place is it, and has it suffered while your gods were dormant?"
[22:38] Misfit: "I doubt the wisdom of telling you the secrets of Asherah's heavens. Yes, she has them, yes, they suffered for her absence"
[22:54] Ed3EvilGM: "If I meant her harm me would be acquiring my knowledge secretly through my servant, I am asking you, because I wish to be open and honest about my curiosity. But I was not asking about her defenses or her armies, I'm more interested in the daily life aspect... or I suppose it might be a daily afterlife... does she live among the righteous dead or do they reside in a separate realm like the Norse Valhalla?"
[23:02] Misfit: "Oh. The goddess resides among her dead; there is no separate home for the valiant warriors. It's rather... peaceful there"
[23:15] Ed3EvilGM: "what sort of place is it? Forest? Desert?"
[23:16] Misfit: "You ask what the realm is for a goddess titled "by the Sea'"
[23:18] Misfit: "All manner of coastline, from deserts to forests"
[23:19] Ed3EvilGM: *grins* "Sounds very damp."
[23:20] Misfit: "Much of it is, yet there are arid areas too"
[23:24] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "and what about the dead, how do they... live?" *shrugs*
[23:26] Misfit: "Often how they did before they died, only with less misery"
[23:30] Ed3EvilGM: "that isn't a ringing endorsement."
[23:32] Misfit: "Her lions are not allowed to hunt them"
[23:37] Misfit: "You forget, I don’t follow human standards. The few we have seem rather happy these days"
[23:37] Ed3EvilGM: *laughs* "can you hunt the wicked?"
[23:40] Misfit: "The wicked have their own place, and we may hunt them"
[23:49] Ed3EvilGM: *nods thoughtfully* "I have a metaphysical question if you don't mind, seeing as we are off to rescue one god from a thing that seems to have killed another god... what happens to the faithful dead if their gods die?"
[23:55] Misfit: "Often they merely are transferred to the afterlife of a similar god. As I understand it, this process received much interference from El, who was must upset the son he had killed still attained full divinity. In rare cases, the god's slayer will take possession of all the slain god's dead"
[23:57] Ed3EvilGM: *nods* "logical, will they simply continue on, increasing the power of the new god, or will they be re-judged according to the whims of this new god?"
[23:59] Misfit: "That depends on the god. El tends to rejudge, and harshly. Most gods will accept the old god's judgment without question"
[00:01] Ed3EvilGM: "any chance this El is going to seize the power again?"
[00:05] Misfit: "There is always a chance, however, conditions are different, or so I hear. His ability to nearly destroy his rivals in other pantheons and that he actually destroyed a large number of his own pantheon, including his own offspring, are the driving forces behind the peace of the gods. While he showed domination is possible, most of the remaining gods felt it was better to share and not risk oblivion by losing to rival pantheons and deities"
[00:10] Misfit: "Breaking the peace means the other gods will act, first through mortal agents, as the Horsemen are finding now. If things escalate, they will act more directly."
[00:12] Ed3EvilGM: "So odds are good that if he tries he'll get mugged and left bleeding in a metaphysical ally somewhere."
[00:14] Misfit: "Odds are good that if he tries it again, he will find himself in the deepest pit of Tarterus"
[20:29] Ed3EvilGM: "I have been meaning to talk to you about a few things if you don't mind. Some professional matters, some more a matter of feeding the elephant's child. Have you some free time to chat?"
