vika_m: Felix asked Meg to explain her connection to the company last we saw them.
Misfit: "Anna restored me. I can greet the sun again, as I had not for a thousand years" she smiles and you can see fangs
Misfit: "My kingdom was forced out by a rival kingdom and attacked Ciudad Juarez. Thanks to folks like Anna, we did not succeed. After the battle I approached her and she used a ritual one of my father's loyal men designed to free me"
vika_m: "I can see why you might think I would not believe. However, much as you may doubt it, I do believe you. How were you turned?"
Misfit: "Not all the enemies of my father's enemies were his friends. After his empire was shattered and my brother slain, they offered me a deal and vengance then denied my vengance"
vika_m: "That sounds torturous. I'm saddened to hear about it all. Are you being hunted by them?"
Misfit: She smiles "No. Those that survived Juarez were hunted down and slain. I am free"
vika_m: "Good. Being free is important. Like water, food, and shelter."
Misfit: She smiles "Indeed"
vika_m: He nods briefly and looks at her boots. "You ride or it's a matter of style?"
Misfit: "I learned to ride from Norman heavy cavalry, the best in europe"
vika_m: "Please forgive my ignorance, I don't know anything older than four or five decades old. This cavalry I assume is," clears throat, "significantly older."
Misfit: "Young enough to not be of interest to Roxy"
vika_m: "You're going to be stunned by my level of ignorance but I'm not so sure what means either. You see, when I hear 'antiquities' I'm thinking of anything pre-Rifts." His eyes twinkle rather than his cheeks blush.
Misfit: "Yes. What Roxy studies is far older than I and I predate the Rifts by some time"
vika_m: "This Norman cavalry was your House's ally, I take it? I myself am a trained rider. Although I'm presently," slight pause, "without a horse."
Misfit: "No, the cavalry were my father's men. And a horse may find you. Mine did"
vika_m: "Clearly I have much to learn." He looks at his boots, "perhaps one would. When did yours come to you?"
Misfit: "The steppes of central Europe. He is a merciless, evil beast though. You do not want a horse like him"
vika_m: He chuckles. "Indeed merciless evil isn't my style." He playfully fakes a worried face, "he isn't standing behind me is he?"
Misfit: "No. He stays well away from the group"
vika_m: He smiles and nods, "I likely could have guessed. So you're fully human now? Pulse and all that?"
Misfit: "No. I still am a vampire. I just have my own will again and the sun will not incinerate me any longer"
vika_m: "I understand. So how do you sustain yourself?"
Misfit: "Niasa and Lery feed me. I do not require as much as other vampires"
vika_m: He nods understandingly. "You started the conversation and here all I've done is bombard you with questions. It causes some folks to itch a bit the way I am."
Misfit: "You are not trying to burn me at the stake"
vika_m: "Certainly this is true." He can't help himself, "a thousand years must be plenty of time to pick up some hobbies and pasttimes?"
Misfit: "Many of them aren't fit for polite company. I was a monster"
Misfit: "I do play the flute"
vika_m: Another smile. "I just assumed that aspect was always somewhat overstated. The further you are from something the further you are from understanding it, I reckon." He raises his brows in interest. "Do you get to play often?"
Misfit: "I do not, but perhaps I should"
Misfit: "What about you? What hobbies do you have?"
vika_m: "Sometimes I've been away from something for a while and unsure if I want to return to it, I give it a try. That usually lets me know pretty quick. What I'm saying is that if you have a flute, play a few bars." He takes a breath, "oh, me, I enjoy tinkering with stuff, taking them a part and putting them back together. It's a good way to determine how things work. Another good way is to break them." He smiles quite happily.
Misfit: "So you tinker"
vika_m: "Yes, ma'am, that's correct."
Misfit: "Ma'am? Well, that's rather formal"
vika_m: His nod betrays his guilt. "I've been working on it. I figure hanging out Hector long enough will cure me sooner than later. That said, growing up, everythign was yes or no ma'am or yes or no sir. It is formal, that's true, but I do mean it to convey respect as well."
Misfit: "Yes, but when speaking to a girl you're wooing, it doesn't help"
vika_m: "I've never been guilty of adroitness in such matters, Meg." Through a mild smile, "It is noted."
vika_m: (it = the advice)
Misfit: She smiles "UNless I did not spy you eyeing us all before approaching me"
vika_m: "As a matter of habit, I am observant. I meant no disrespect by of objectification or in any other inappropriate manner."
vika_m: *by way of
Misfit: She shuckles "Depends on what you do with it. Do not be like Ringo"
vika_m: "I have been known to smoke cigars, but I sense you mean something else?"
Misfit: "You do not know him. forget I mentioned it then"
vika_m: "True enough, I don't. Hector isn't the most precise when it comes to 'crash course on who's who' I'm afraid. Please, though, if I ever be like Ringo give me head's up rather than a head's off."
Misfit: "I shall let you know"
vika_m: "Much obliged. So what is this place anyway? Things have been happening at a rapid pace since our arrival."
Misfit: "We are in what was once Turkey. We came to the resting place of a long dead god to slay a demon who wanted to piss on the grave"
vika_m: He nods. "Impressive. Most impressive. Demons. Gods. (oh my!) I'm still mortal enough, I wonder what I've just stepped into."
Misfit: "Roxy would say a myth where gods walk among men"
vika_m: "A myth in that she does not believe the gods exist?"
Misfit: "No, in that, like in the old tales, gods walk in the world of men. Anna's father is Zeus and she is not the only god-touched among us"
vika_m: He nods, "indeed" and he inconspicuously points to himself. "So why do you stay? Are into the fight against evil? Or just the rush of being in action?"
Misfit: "The fight against evil" she sighs "And I have nowhere else to go"
vika_m: "I'm not trying to pursuade you but you seem capable of blazing your own way in, er, life."
Misfit: "I am, but to what end? I am still a vampire. The only places that would have me are havens for monsters"
vika_m: "I have defer to your wisdom, I reckon. You know I admit I was just kind of blurting something out. Felt like the right thing to say but in retrospect, not so much." He sniffs, "My apologies."
Misfit: "Apology accepted. You are an interesting man"
vika_m: He beams somewhat. "Coming from someone who has been through what you have," he nods, "well it's pretty cool."
Misfit: "Shall I play my flute for you a bit?"
vika_m: He politely bows his head, "after you."
Misfit: She leads you to her tent and motions for you to have a seat right outside it, steps in, and returns with a small flute, which she plays
vika_m: He bobs his head or moves his shoulders as best he can with the music. He thinks about how flutes are engineered and built, too.
