Not that I expect anyone to have read the first or second trilogy, but I'll compare them anyway.
Marcus - Casseline in his dedication to his training and the fact Shao-Lin monks and Casseline brothers do draw good comparisons, but Marc is Eamonn mac Graine in attitude. He is cheerful, always up for wenching, drinking, or fighting.
Morgan - definately Phedre in coming to grips with what she is and how she relates to the world. She also is the brains of the pair.
Jeremy - Phedre in his intellegence, general oversexed nature, and enjoying pain. But Shemhazi would appreciate his inventiveness

I feel like quoting something (albeit slightly modified for the situation) for this and then I'll make some commentary.
I must not be bored. Boredom is the mind-killer. Boredom is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my boredom. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the boredom has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
OKAY! Moving right right along, let's think about some other characters, hrm? I would put Mick as being Imriel. For those of you who don't know who Imriel is, that's okay, you haven't read the books so a lot of this might not make sense anyway.
Carol...? Carol's...There was only ONE WIZARD in all of the damn books >.< Uuuuh, I think Carol would make a great Tsingani personally. One of Hyacinthe's cousins or something. She seems the type.
Uh, Ruby...Ruby...C'mon, someone help me out here? Who's a strong , silent type in Kushiel? Besides a Cassiline...
I feel like we're missing someone...Ni Jun. Melisande. Hands down, no contest.

Ni Jun lacks Melisande's charm and grace. I'm not sure about Carol as a Tsingano either. She's closer to the Kore. Added note, Marc and Jer are Caemelines too. They think with their swords.

Jacqueline Carey is the author. The books are, in order, Kushiel's Dart, Kushiel's Chosen, Kushiel's Avatar, and Kushiel's Scion. Read them in order.

Mick isn't bothering to try and be good though. Nor does he have problems accepting who he is.

Last I heard, it was self preservation or for Filly. And it's been a bit since I've seen Mick do much.

he just finished hoppping out a window risking his own neck so for the group, and getting captured by an unknown beast that could have killed him where he stood.
that was just the last day. he took rat master's sneakers so rat master is going after 'him' to 'his' house if anyones, which actually puts filly in more danger if you think about it.
he has taken the yoke of leadership, despite expressing plainly he's a failure as a leader, and filly and him are in the middle of a fight. he has taken everyone out to eat, and has shared every secret he has about his past.
this is all fairly recent stuff you gonna call that all on preservation of filly? mick'll try to convince you that it is, and he probably'll do a good job of it, but you've already seen it, mick is an excellent bullshitter, and he doesn't know himself well enough to know when he's bullshitting himself either

Meaning he's doing good unwittingly. Imriel just wanted to try to be good. OF course Imriel had a more fucked up background than Mick.

Yes, believe it or not, Imriel's background is -way- more fucked up than Mick's.
Mick is unwittingly becoming a better person, and he alone changing from his hard-cut asshole status to that is in some way's similar to Imriel. But Mick is changing and not realizing it, lying to himself the whole time, Imriel actively wants to not be what he realizes he was supposed to become. But there are other similarities in how Mick and Imriel get "mother figures"
